"The recall is only for batteries that were included with the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Affected batteries are ones with model number A1175 and have a 12-digit serial number ending with U7SA. U7SB or U7SC." - Dailytech

Yeah, the batteries heat up like the Dells but not quite as hot. It can cause deformation of the macbook case (melting, etc.)

erm ok so my battery has that :( A1175

ends in U7SC

that can't be good

as daft as it sounds it was getting pretty darn warm
 
at least they send the new one before u give the current one back...

Melting or disforming. Staining is another issue with the MBP case, where your hands go it tends to turn a yellow or brownish.
 
really? man that sucks, mind you most old apple stuff i've seen that was once white, was yellow/cream coloured :(

Yeah, that's the only thing bout Apple white stuff. It's not actually white plastic, but like white plastic with a clear plastic layer/shell or something that stains easily. Mmf.
 
hmm, are the keyboards the same? i thought they were just white plastic? they pick up dirt very quickly, but being white i can see why

Theyve actually fixed this problem. All of the new MacBooks ship with a higher density plastic with smaller pores so that the discoloration doesn't happen. Fixed about a month ago or so IIRC.

Really? Effin sick! Kudos to Apple. To be honest, they seem like one of the few companies out there who actually listen to their customers and take prompt action when there is a problem.

Apple customer service is second to none, they definately take care of their customers very well.
 
then pay again for extended uber warranty or rather "apple care" i have to say, so far.. i'm very impressed with my baby :D

i also noticed they slyed in a volume limiting control for the iPods on iTunes without me realising till the other day, when did they add that?
