Wub Wub, time for something different.

So even though I was practically dead after 3 hours sleep I pushed on. Set it up last night.

After about 5 minutes you feel the sudden urge to release your bowels. Placement was everything, it's barely even moving and you can feel every note lol.

Yeah it's tuned. I have about 40 bass mechanics CDs ripped so making tons of bass is pretty easy.

It sounds completely different with the rest of the system involved.

This is what I was testing with. 33-55hz. Which is about where I wanted it tuned.

That would be quite handy tbh. That said I know where the bass drivers bottom out, and it's quite simple with the system being completely neutral. It's simply a matter of starting the sub when the 6" drivers bottom out.

That said this was 99.9% done for movies. I just love it when watching something like Top Boy and someone gets shot unexpectedly and you absolutely crap your pants :D

I still listen to a lot of music over the system, but that is mostly vinyl now. I have good headphones for all but really bass heavy music, but I do like my vinyl. Not because it sounds good, it doesn't. I bought a £250 moving coil cartridge for my turntable that has improved it no end, but it's not touching a FLAC or WAV. However, what I do love about vinyl is the interaction with it, and how it is not a visual thing. What I mean is when I listen to music through a PC or whatever I have to have the TV on. Which usually results in me listening to two songs, then becoming distracted by going to Youtube or something.

With vinyl I can shut the TV off completely, and it's just me and the music. And TBH? with a system like mine critical listening is very very difficult. IE, I have gone for the most neutral amp and speakers there is, so picking holes is impossible. They measure as good as any monitors, so if you don't like the way it sounds it's down to the track itself. Hence, listening to vinyl allows me to be far more picky. Like "Oh god that doesn't even touch the FLAC !" or I can find myself incredibly impressed at how a pressed plastic disc can sound that good.

And Warchild - I do have a few CB albums. Love them myself. Got lots of Daft Punk and etc too.

I will get to all of that on vinyl one day. I am nearly done on the Radiohead, and have picked up my first Pearl Jam album on vinyl. Couple more of those I want, then onto Green Day and etc. I will get to the more electronic stuff at some point.

Some you might want to try from a list i found, but have to admit CB Prodigy or Lefield were my faves way back when.

"Above and Beyond" – Bassnectar
"Hysteria" – Muse
"M.A.D" – Hadouken!
"Papercut" – Linkin Park
"Sail" – Awolnation
"Titanium" – David Guetta
"Radioactive" – Imagine Dragons
"Can't Hold Us" – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
"Yeah" – Usher

Now days I'm more into Motown or classic rock as my main choice, but my taste is varied since I was a semi pro brass player when i was a teen.
