Unigene Valley Extreme HD

Saphire 290 Tri-X 1230/1550 & 2500k @ 4.00ghz

EDIT: I seem to be losing points on the 14.1 drivers because I got 2573 with 1190/1550 on 13.12 and that was with my CPU at stock.

14.1 is not much use for benching, if you are not going to use Mantle try going back to 13.12 for gaming or 13.11 for benching.

Just tried it on 2560*1440

And 1920*1080

Here is some scores to compare to, the 1440p scores are in the last set of tables.

Just did a restart and tried a few different clocks. Seems performance is dropping off for me with anything higher than 1230mhz, even upping the volts doesn't help.
13.12 may get me better results but I can't be arsed uninstalling 14.1 and installing 13.12 at the moment :)

This is the best I could get at 1230/1550 at ~1.24v without performance dropping off though.

Here is my 290X doing the same clocks, if you add on 10% to your score for the difference between a 290P and 290X and also I am using the better drivers 13.12 then your score looks about right.

What speed were you running your CPU at as it can effect the scores even with a single card.

I'll give 13.12 a go tomorrow if I feel up to it, I should be able to squeeze a few extra points out.

I'm only running 4ghz on my CPU, from stock to 4ghz I got around 40-50 extra points IIRC I might try to get 4.5ghz when I try the 13.12 again to see if I can get even more of a bump in points.

Just tried valley with the same GPU clocks as before but with the CPU @4.0 instead of 4.7

CPU 4.0 scored 3048
CPU 4.7 scored 3062

Hmm, not that much of a bump with a higher CPU clock. I thought I got a bigger bump with mine, not 100% sure though.

I'll have to do some testing, I think I'll do stock CPU & stock GPU.
Then 4ghz CPU & stock GPU to see how much a boost a CPU overclock gives me on a stock GPU.

When I have done that i'll try 4ghz CPU & 1230\1550 GPU then 4.5ghz CPU & 1230\1550 GPU and see how much difference it makes with an overclocked GPU.

I wasn't keeping track of scores when I went from stock to OC on my CPU when I got my 290 but i'll do the above tomorrow and see how much of a difference I get.

Just uninstalled 14.1 and installed 13.12, I then ran Valley with three different CPU clock speeds 1: stock 2: 4.00ghz 3: 4.5ghz with GPU at stock 1000/1300 and then again at 1230/1550 for each CPU clock.

Got a decent bump in points just from OCing my CPU, it's not a massive bump but more points is more points

It is always good to see the effect of different clockspeeds.

With two cards on the Valley bench the CPU if overclocked enough can just about cope. With 3 or 4 cards it is a total waste of time as the CPU bottleneck means you will be lucky to score anymore than a two card setup @1080p.

With 3 or 4 cards there is much better scaling @1600p when using NVidia but there is no quadfire support.:(

Been tinkering with my MSI HD7950 and got a little extra 50pints out of it by droping the memmory back to 1450Mhz (from 1500) and uping the core clock to 1150 (from 1100) no matter now meny volts i add on to the core in msi afterburner i dont think its actualy being aplyed or i'd be able to get a stable 1200Mhz clock :/

Latest score :)

3930K @ 4.37GHz
2x GTX 780's at 1.12GHz
32GB RAM @ 1666MHz

4,777 is the highest score I've had yet. Previously my best was 4,400 before I OC'd my GTX 780's. I recently put my GTX 780's waterblocks on so they run about 45c max now even at 1.12GHz which is a big OC considering at stock they run at about 860MHz Baseline / 900MHz with GPU Boost 2.0. ^_^

not bad. still got a bit more
i think i got this score like 8 months ago. no idea what clockspeed i was running, can't reproduce the result atm

Honestly I think this benchmark isn't very good because you see the Minimum FPS?

The FPS during the benchmark for me never falls below say 80 FPS. Until it switches between scenes, the part where it goes black and then back to the benchmark is when the FPS falls and the benchmark seems to take this black area in to its results which is really stupid because it's loading data for the next scene and nothing is even being rendered.

I can run this benchmark 20 times and get wildly different minimum FPS results from 16 to 36 and they have drastic changes on the final score. If my FPS in the minimum goes to 16 I get below 4K points.

Just beat my score again, my CPU is holding me back, can't get any better.

1200\1600 GPU and 4.7ghz CPU.
