The White Ghost of Watercooling

I'm beginning to fear you are going too white here. Be careful!

Ill bear it in mind, im allways open to suggestions! I think my U.V reactive coolant may break things up a little as well as my cards.

Progress so far...

At the moment, ive got the bottom rad fans pushing air down, which will pull the air in fron the front. Anyone think keep it that way, or flip it so its pulling air from the bottom, upwards & getting sucked out the front?

The top rad is pulling air upwards, rear fan outwards if that helps....

That board is sweet mate, but I think there is a little too much white, the black and white fans you've got come in the opposite colour combo, I think they would break it up a whole lot.

As far as fan direction, I'd go bottom rad, front fans, and rear fan as intakes, then the top rad as exhaust.

Possibly black, but was toying with the idea of grey braided to match the board Camo. Maybe even a mix, but again, im allways open to suggestions.

Paul, thanks for the fan advice, ill give it a go!

Personally mate, I'd go black and grey, for the cables, but maybe think of a 3rd colour to give the whole theme a bit of a lift, not a lot of it, just maybe one or two strands. I've recently finished a black and white build and the plan was, the same as your's with a white case, white rads, but with the reverse colour fans to your, and the cablee were black, white. and grey, but once it was done it just looked flat, a little bit to monochrome, so I added blue coolant and it brought the whole thing to life.

It doesn't need to be much, just the odd little touch here and there can make all the difference. Themes are good, up until the point where the theme itself becomes too much.

That's going to be insanely dusty with all fans as exhausts. If you live in a dusty environment, and/or have pets, it will be even worse. I'd consider changing that around.

All fans as intakes, but the top rad as exhaust mate, you need to have positive pressure, which is basically more fans blowing in than blowing out.

Nice build! I have to know though, do you really need those 40mm fans on the mobo, if not just get rid of them, noisy little fans.

Very annoying Wraithguard. It would be better if PSUs didnt have them....

Ill look into the fan reconfig when i get it up & running & powered up, as i havr still yet to get a cable to power it all up.

No idea Dark NighT, when its up & running, ill decide then, but to be fair, if it gets hot for them to kick in, then chances are ill be gaming & not hear them anyways over the noise of me getting shot at in my games! :D

First things first though, is filling the rads blocks & pipes with coolant, then get windows up & running. Ill take it from there.

Thanks for all the interest in this thread & the advice given.

ok guys I need some advice. In the interest of some colour, im open to suggestions.

Im thinking EK Backplates. What im stuck on, is colour. I don't want red, so cancel that out.

That leaves the Gold, Black & blue options. I was toying with the idea with Gold, but im not 100% sure what it'll really look like in my hands. Pictures don't seem to do it justice. Same goes for the Blue.

What ever option I go for, ill be using braided cables to suit. HALP!

Good lord use black! your case at the moment is way too bright. You need to tone it down.

Sorry for the delay in updating this thread, but overclockers seem to be dragging their heels on these backplates. Its been 5 weeks now. First they were out of stock, then when i they were in stock, i told them to split my order as something else on that order was also out of stock.

But seems even that was a mistake as none were ever in stock. So ive asked for the XSPC ones, but after sending two mails, seems to have fallen on deaf ears, with a rig thats only partially built.

Starting to get a bit miffed now..... I cant even fill my loop with coolant, let alone install cables & get windows installed.

Patience is a virtue. I started my desk in August and only placeholder cuttings or mods have been used. Im about ready to tear it all down and begin doing things properly.

not too much to add here, Overclockers sent me a monsoon compression fitting, but it was the wrong size. They labelled it wrong, although Monsoons manufactuer coding was right for the fitting inside. So Ive had to send that back, & await the correct fitting to arrive.

so that's Another week ive gotta wait till I can start the coolant process.....

But while ive been waiting on that, thought I'd get cracking with the Waterblocks & back plates.

I think it took me over an hour each card to do, bearing in mind this is the first time ive ever done this. Shaky hands, lots of prepping & cleaning of the chips, cutting of the thermal pads & peeling them ( what a pain in the butt peeling them is.... ) finially resulted in this....

With the cards done, then I moved onto the SLi bridge, tubing & fittings, & weve resulted in this so far....
