The White Ghost of Watercooling

Hmm, the PSU LEDs light up though, all the fans spin and there's no error code on the motherboard.

Are you sure there isn't an issue with the screen itself?

ok seems fine then, those pumps draw quite a bit more then just a fan and the mobo fan connectors arent really designed for that which might have been one of the causes of your problems.

yes, as im using it on my older PC via DVi to update this thread! :D

Ok, we have progress! I took the battery out, & pulled all the cables out the PSU. ( that was a mission itself with little to no room to pull out! )

reseated/reconnected the cables in the PSU, & stuck the battery back in. Below is what happened......

popped the disc in after having a look around in the Bios....

so with a decent OS now loaded on, just got a few more bits to do like add my wireless card, cable management and/or some suggestions ??

allways welcome

And thanks for ALL help regarding this issue, I were sweatin' buckets!! ;)

If you saw my post about battery, then im glad i could help you, atleast i could help someone from this shitty phone. I wonder though why you didnt try taking battery out in the first place? :)

People always forget the basics and jump to the more technical stuff.

Well, to bebquite honest, i thought the battery was just to keep the clock going when its off, so it baffles me, how when u turn it on, & its got power, it stops anything displaying!

Just in the process of installing driver software.

Unsure about that, until i get this up and running. I think its to adjust the speed, as it has a molex connector which ive plugged in, and that powered it up when i was filling my loop, which that is connected to one of my PSU cables.

Hope that helps.....
The 3 pin cable from the pump is just an RPM header to report the RPM of the pump. The molex connector is what powers it. FYI. Glad you got the system running! That's a scary time in a nerds life, that black screen.

i know, tell me about it! Then what cable is it that adjusts its RPM?

heres some more pics of it, messing around with the NZXT LED lights...

Ive seem to run into a problem. Thought id give OCCT a try. Both cards seem to average in the high 30's for temps, however, in nol less than a minute, the CPU seems to rocket way past 75!

Somethings not right there. no air locks, the in/out ports to the XSPC waterblock in the right way, i know ive put a decent sized pea amount on the i7 4670K CPU ( pics earlier in the thread shows this page 8) & its deffo on tight.

Currently idling at 36C with a zero overclock ( 4GHz ). If i go any tighter, i'll probably squash the CPU, so i know its on. & before anyone asks, yes the pre-pack film was removed.

help!

Crap, I just went back through the thread real quick to see what pump you have, and you have an Aquacomputer D5 it seems. That's a bit different than the usual D5s, so you probably have more options if you're running an Aquero. Forget what I said before, DOH! I thought you had a normal non-PWM D5 vario, which can't be electronically controlled via that RPM header.

That does sound high. How many volts is the CPU pulling under full load?

Umm, need to check when i get in. Just to clear it up, is it VCore im looking at? In OCCT....

I adjusted CPU speed fan in the BIOS that my D5 pump is connected to, its a little bit better, after 5 mins, hits 67. Still high....

I dont have an aquero. Do i need one?

I found one fault on these motherboards. The capacitors located on the left side of the waterblock can prevent the waterblock sitting nicely on the CPU if you a unlucky. I noticed that when I was dismantling my loop.

Hopefully you dont have this problem because even your Idle temp is much higher than mine.

edit* Just saw you managed 67C. Thats not too bad actually.

why does occt say ur vcore is 1.7V-1.76V??? if its really that you'll be killing that cpu very quickly

Warchild what waterblock did you use out of interest?

Hope this.pic helps with my CPU under load 3 minutes in....

EK Supremacy EVO.

Left side of block was resting on top of the capacitors. My fix was that I had to carefully bend the capacitors away so there was clearance for the block to sit on the CPU.

Yessir.

No one needs an aquero. :) It's an expensive toy. But if you have an Aqualis D5 pump, you could connect it to the Aquaero (how the hell do you spell that?!?) and control the pump through software. Depends on what you want. I'm content to run D5s at full blast with no control at all.

THIS! Unless OCCT is badly misreading something, that has to be off right?

not a clue,

im still new in this BIOS, struggling knowing what things mean.

I went into the BIOS and changed VCORE from 1.120 to 1.10 & temp on my CPU maxed out at 60C

ok, took a pic, hope this helps.
