Come on, we need to take 39th on the 06 tables!

I see a few of our regualrs missing updated scores, or even scores missing all together!

Get posting guys or ill start naming names :D.

Very nice :)

What are we calling stable? Mine runs 3d marks at 730, 1770, 980 but ati tool finds atrifacts every few minutes. Could give it a bit of an extra boost with that bios.

Is there any real temp rise from it ?

Before the bios flash I ran 3dm06 @ 740/1850/1020... However crysis would crash, I had to knock it down to 700/1750/975. Crysis is the best thing for stressing gpu's right now. I also used rthdribl an 3dm06 on loop to test for stability.

So now I can run my old unstable 3dm06 setting 24/7 I imagine I can get 16K.

nn peeps, will do some runs tomorrow after work

Will be doing new scores when my rig is watercooled in a couple of weeks. Hopefully my mobo will allow my cpu above 3.5ghz.. Got all the bits apart from my waterblock :( waiting on the Acrylic Supreme!

The only thing that stops me flashing mt 8800gt is that i cant read the temps because its an Asus and the Asus software does not like my PC :(

Use Riva?!

Edit:

Just looked at Rast's SP1M and 3dm06 scores... I was expecting more! I thought the new cpu would smash my scores, I mean the sp1m was pretty much clock for clock.

I guess benching on vista sucks huh?

Well the best I`ve had out of the cpu was 12, there is a post of it on the thread where I was buying the stuff, and that was well below 4ghz - which is weird. The bios is all over the shop in terms of co-operating with the cpu, the volts aren`t applied correctly and the temps are anybody`s guess.

May be the case that a better suited bios would co-operate the whole system better.

And I did think going to 4ghz on air was pretty good, stock is like 3ghz.

I do feel the memory I got isn`t worth it mind u.

I just wrote a lengthy reply and re-read this - 'best I`ve had out of the cpu was 12... that was well below 4ghz'

You have a very nice CPU, expensive too. Buy a mobo that is known to play ball with your proccy and sell/save your current one. Seems a total waste to have an amazing cpu not working correctly.

Your blasé demeanour is admirable, if I were you I would be in rant mode! Or very min frantic mode, flashing bioses left right and centre, re-formatting, tuning, clocking...

Rast you must get this chip working, I think you can get a 10sec SP1M and some SERIOUS 3dm06 scores.

Someone has to knock Mullet off the top spot :D

He's been there resting on his laurels waay too long :)

*cough* well they`re meant to be expensive ;)

Anywho, ya - I just checked out some1s 3Dmark06 scores for a Q6600 @3.9ghz in XP and it gets 6000 points on it`s own. As u can see, the QX9650 in Vista has gotten me 5300, which is crazy talk lol.

Nah, I mean if I was a dedicated hertz chaser, I`d probably switch out the IP35 for the IX38 right now and get excited, but tbh 14k+ .. meh. If I was that dedicated I`d be under water. I mean doods are taking the cpu to 5.8ghz or summit - achieving 7 seconds SPI... and I`d be re installing XP.

I don`t personally think, even with a 100% correct bios, on air, in Vista, that this chip will go below 11 seconds.

EDIT: I`m still banking on the bios factor only being a matter of time. Probably the next non-beta release will do.

Well if you do decide to grow a pair and bench properly... j/k :)

If I can get 16k with a q6600 & GT you can get more.

Besides, better scores have two benefits, firstly you get a bigger e-peen. OK so you don't care about that.

How about for the greater good of the site? Better scores in hwbot means :oc3d: rise up the ranks and get more exposure. We need you Rast!

What`s e-peen ?

Meh, I could image and install XP just to get 16k, bit of a false positive. But I don`t see anything much greater than that with this on air.

Tbh, rasts score is nothing to be sniffed at now. And having a fully functioning, 99.9% (last .1% lost for simply using windows...) stable rig is more important than bench scores & having the highest oc in the world in a lot of peoples eyes, including my own tbh.

Of course i happen to have more than one pc...

Tell u another thing about performance clock for clock. My Q6600 folds slower than the QX9650 at the same speed - but the superpi I bet is damn close.

It shows 0C as does everything else apart form the latest Asus software, but that doesnt like my PC. Because I have to install the Asus driver it forces me to a max of 800x600 4 bit colour. I have no idea why.

Just put bios 12b02 in, thanks to supershanks on the abit forum - now I have a valid multiplier :) Temps and voltage still weird tho, but hey.

Got 4.26ghz out of it, and funny tho it seems, it actually feels like it`s doing it as opposed to the other bios ?!? hard to explain.

Apparently this bios lacks solid crossfire support - pffft.

Done the superpi.

3dmark06 ran slower... which I can`t understand fully, so I`m running some more stuff.

1 thing I did notice, on the 3dmark06 cpu test, I glance down to the g15 cpu performance and it only maxed at 75% scoring 5188.. pretty darn sure it`s meant to go 100%.

What are you running these day? Your sig is out of date! Hardware/os...

You are now SP1M champ! By a second! Nice work.

3dm06 - weird. Really weird. Mind you Koganinja had a similar issue, he had everything maxed, backed down a little and got a better 3dm06 score. Go figure.

On air ! U w/c guys need to get ur act together :p j/k

Kinda screwed up the graphics tuning too last night me thinks.

Went to install Rivatuner, and thought ntune was fully uninstalled - turns out it leaves a profile loader in the startup.

So now I`m in a position where I install ntune - and the clocking options are all zero hertz, unadjustable.

I install Rivatuner and it constantly wants u to reboot to detect settings - can`t do detect now - well u can, but it`s all blank.

Any ideas ? I`m thinking of trying the newer driverset anyway, so I may just uninstall everything nvidia related, do a dcp, delete all nv* files and folders - and see what happens.

I had that when I had them both installed.. Removed both fully, deleted all the extracted stuff in the nvidia folder and reinstalled the graphics card drivers and rivatuner. It's all good so far :)
