Mr Smith - what is u`r cpu score in 3dm06 ?

EDIT: nvm, I see u got 5.8k+ b4.

EDIT2: tbh I`d be upset:

Looking @ Ham & Tox`s setups £ per lb per 3dmark06 score, they`re only like 2k behind.

LOL - 2K is a lot! Me and Kemp score almost the same, he was using the 3070/ultra, im using the q6600/gts - £/£ there its good going.

It's hard to get an extra few hundred points let alone a few thou... I think it's alright. No record breaker but I don't have ultras in sli/ln2 cpu etc :)

Edit: Suppose you have a point but take me and Tox, the only diff is the cpu and @ £160 i doubt Tox paid any less when he got his cpu

C'mon people!

What is going on? Why is on one benching and posting in the hwbot sections?

I mean, I'm no.1 for sp1m, and that isn't even the best I can do. So I dare someone to do better :D

Also, 3dm - we need more people really clocking the nuts off their gear to push our average higher...

Jim & Peevs - you have nice rigs and no entries. Shame on you.

LOL - one 'gig' = 1000mhz, you dropped down 100mhz.

It is worth noting that you may well be able to clock a gfx card from 690mhz to 700mhz core but it might not perform as well. Before and after you adjust your settings you must run benchmarks to compare scores.

Cant wait to get my 2900pro and smash all these with a big of OC'ing :D Im still stuck below 11k with my GX2 without OC'ing.. cant stand the noise of it at full fan though. Or at idle mind you, both are dead annoying.

Hoping to brake the 13k mark with an OC'd 2900pro 1gb.

SMITH

on the new riva check your shader clock and also try for a 5-5-5-14 2.2-2.4v timeing on the ram and on the gpu try 670/1100 shader about 1500 leave pci bus at 100 :D

Big fat bump!

I know we've got a fair few guys with shiny new rigs for xmas. And a few others with some nice upgrades at least. So get cranking on the clocks and post up your benchmark results in the appropriate hwbot threads! :)

Ham has just pointed this out to me, will have to crank the good old C2D up and get some decent clocks on this 8800GT which I havent even bothered with yet :p

I'm going to tidy up my rig which involves putting my GT under water, this should yeild bigger OC's and more points. Woo.

Last I tried I think I got stuck at 730 core and w/e shader that equals linked... With 4.0ghz on the cpu.

What is the most you would try voltage wise on the cpu? Think I went up to 1.7v when trying for SP 1M @ 4.2ghz.

Also, can someone find that GT bios with the extra voltage? Apparently after flashing with that bios you can get to 750 stable... There is a way to flash with a usb stick too, anyone know how to do that?

Anything over 700 core/1750 shaders crashes on crysis for me!

Cheers

If you send me yours ill edit it for you. But as ever its you fault if you break anything...

Cool. I found how to make a bootable cd in nero with the files and I think understand how to edit the bios... I may send you mine anyway.

Max voltage for GT is 1.1v regardless. Besides you can't break hardware flashing bios - just flash back with recovery disk (found out how to make one of those too ;))

Im interested how the extra voltage will effect the oc and temps.

Extra voltage effects:

1. On OC - positive anything from an extra 20-70mhz on the core, stable. Also extra on the shaders.

2. Temps - this 1.1v bios raises core ~3 degrees...

Smithy, when you've done this can you let me know how it goes?? We seemed to be getting very similar clocks on our GTs so it would be a good indication. Ta

Thats why im interested lol, 8800GT's FTW (I havnt updated my sig in ages lol)

OK boys, flashed my card, not fully finished BUT so far an extra 36mhz on the core and an extra 54mhz on the shaders - that is crysis stable :)

Messing around with just max core = 756 but that was weird because riva tuner wouldn't raise it any higher regardless - I had the slider up to 900mhz but the core wouldn't budge :eh:

Has the shader up to 2000mhz before they crapped out.

So before max stable:

700/1750 (702/1728 actual)

After:

740/1800 (738/1782 actual)

Nice little boost for an easy procedure. I'll whack up a guide if you want as I made a usb stick bootable...

New improved 3dm06 scores to follow ;)

Very nice :)

What are we calling stable? Mine runs 3d marks at 730, 1770, 980 but ati tool finds atrifacts every few minutes. Could give it a bit of an extra boost with that bios.

Is there any real temp rise from it ?
