hwbot [ALL] Discussion thread

Ya I got dcp m8. Bit of a tip tho, it doesn`t remove all the nvidia driver stuff, u have to go searching for nv* stuff after and remove it urself ;)

Well all that stuff comes to nothing now.

Every which way I uninstall everything and either install rivatuner or ntune - neither of them will allow clock changing.

Rivatuner shows the clock speeds until u set it to be able to change stuff - it asks for reboot, then the chip icons have blanks next to them.

Similarly take everything out and reinstall ntune and the clocks are at zero and no changes can be made.

pfft rivatuner screwed it somehow, I`ll have to look into it - or I`m looking to reinstall b4 any gfx benching.

Cards running ok @ stock, but meh, only think I can alter atm is the fan. Taken the oportunity to install the latest recommended nvidia drivers. Not so sure they`ll be any good cos they`ll be enphasising the newer GTS, but it seems they`ve changed the download page so u can`t select individual cards in the 8 series, that`s never a good sign - other than a new series is coming ;)

They work on 169.02/25 ? Thought they were lost as soon as we lost the original cp ?

Meh ATI Tool doesn`t want to know either, says windows isn`t using the card ??!!?!

Sorted this btw. Simplest of things - the restore registry settings thing inside rivatuner. Not impressed mind. Only ocs in steps.

Anywho, my rant is: is there a way users using that crappy web-based 3DMark06 thing can show the SM2/HDR/CPU scores when posting ?

Kind regards,

Kind regards,

Not to my knowledge. I just take a screenie!

BTW - I broke 16K. Woooo-hooo (said rather unenthusiastically)

Edit: 3dm05 crashed on me yest :( Strange as the same settings passed multiple 3dm06 runs!

3dm05 score tonight

Biggest thing for me is seeing how peoples cpus score against gfx scores. Only cos when some1 asks how their old cpu will compare with a new one, vice-versa, it a very easy approximation to just insert another persons cpu score and do the math.

Checkout the homepage. Whilst I was downloading I noticed *patch* for this, *patch* for that. Nothing to do with performance, just stability I think.

I have the pro version of 05... Actually, come to think of it I might have the pro 06 lying around... Either way I'll check for patches, although after my crysis patch fiasco I'm a little wary of patches!

No talking in the hwbot thread Mr.

Even if you are #1.:o

No talking, not even in the discussion thread??? ;)

Actually, Ham, should we have a cinebench 10 thread?

Edit 2: Why the fook is 3dm05 crapping out on me? I thought it was the graphics card so i lowered the clocks. Then I noticed on the cpu test it dies.

I have pro so i turned off all graphic tests an sure enough cpu is crapping out. Backed down from usual 4.0ghz benching to rock solid super stable 3.6 (it's solid at 3.7 too)... Anyway same problem. D/L hotfix for 'all' 3dm... Still craps out.

Now i'm d/l the free one to see if that craps out...

3dm06/occt/prime/we all work. :eh: ???

Updated some scores. Not as good as I had hoped but either CPU limited or not taking advantage of the GPU's

Ah well, tis a few points in the bag :)

18k triple sli prawn-age ! I think there`s more to come from that setup tho.

Bet it performs better in games than the 06 benchmark makes out.

Need 08 benchmark pdq tbh, don`t rely on 06 much these days.

Rast is right, Tri SLI has hardly any effect in 06 from what I've seen. I've looked around for a patch but to no avail. I'll take another look tomrrow. Here's to hoping Crysis uses Tri SLI :D :beerchug:

Here`s a german link to some1 benching http://www.pcgameshardware.de/?article_id=624620

Shows almost double, to almost triple in some cases, performance on a single card in games.

Then of course u have the extreme end of things with doods getting 28k http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-3786-view-NForce-780i-SLI-with-Yorkfield-extreme-OC.html

Which tbh I think is pretty poor for 3dmark06 as a bencher, considering 8k+ of that is the yorkfield.

When u look at the Gfxcard only scores here:

http://upload.overclock3d.net/dwn/280239362806/3dmarksli.jpg

The extreme setups are getting SM2 & HDR/SM3 scores of 11k & 12k - which gives u scope to improve, but not by much (graphics only). maybe 3 or 4k ?? total.

Think the benchmark has reached it`s limit when the bigger scores are being achieved more by the cpu than the gfxcard(s).
