Watch Dogs Pc specs

Atleast your individual cores have grunt :'(. Try playing dayZ with an AMD cpu. You can feel the frames shedding as you go near anything that would need cpu power. my 280x would in theory destroy Dayz SA but thanks to the 4-cores-if-you-are-lucky cpu usage method of Bohemia makes it tank to 15. Its just DayZ (and to some extent arma3). The stronger piledriver cores perform excellently with Arma 2.

Aye true, I wish the Arma 2 engine was better, played Arma 3 for the first time in months lastnight.. runs stunningly better than 2 does :( gutting..

Wasteland in Arma 3 just isn't 'there' yet, if they ported over the content from 2 in to 3's engine i'd play it all day.

Cores are like cylinders right? V16 power!
Seriously though, i doubt AMD has the resources to invest in a new CPU architecture which could compete with skylake, they are going to be royally f'd if they can't manage to put more cores on the die to get the spec sheet effect. That's what's keeping them alive right now, the spec sheet looks great to people with little experience.
Whats really keeping them alive is their cpu prices. Honestly as much as I complain about my cpu, it was £120 (now you can get them for ~105)and with a few exceptions, it has defiantly been worth the price. It only struggles with a couple of games and rendering. Everything else it does excellently. It and the 6300 are easily the best buys for budget gaming rigs. Piledriver has really been a huge improvement to the FX series. Also I think that certain games that Bulldozer ran poorly have now been optimized. Planetside is an excellent example. It runs amazingly on my cpu.

The Ultra hardware specs have been updated.

Intel Core i7-4770K with a GeForce 780

"Morin also said that the recently released PC trailer that was showing the game at its best was recorded on an Intel Core i7-3930K with a GeForce Titan."

For how the game looks I'm surprised it needs a 780 to run it on ultra... It sounds to me like it almost won't be very well optimized (in the same way GTA IV is).

I believe that Bohemia are going to let people port the content over for free soon. Atleast they said that a while ago... I really hope we get some more current (i.e. not the future crap that is in it currently) equipment in arma 3 soon as I miss alot of the stuff from ARMA 2, especially the Russian stuff.

Because steam is making a god-damned killing ?

Just think, Titanfall, which is a source engine game, isn't even on sale on steam ...

I wouldn't mind so much about these other platforms (apart from UPlay, because it's gash and slower than anything I've ever seen before when it updates) they need you to be able to play your games offline, Steam handled that and it works. The 'always on' nature of the alternatives pisses me off. And the in your face advertising doesn't help either.

I get why, I just think they could do a much better job of the implementation.

You know you can circumvent UPlay by simply using the game short cut on your desktop, use the desktop game icon and let UPlay load but don't start the game using the UPlay UI "RUN" icon instead simply use the desktop icon a second time. :)

I'll really have to buy that game, won't i?
Easter sale should happen rather soon.

Its mostly worth it now they've added in the campaign and some key missing units. Especially if you can get it on sale. I scored when I preordered it for £20. To me, £20 seems worth it. The full asking price is a bit steep despite the improvements.

Its making me worry a bit how high the specs are, there is also a trailer showing Nvidia tech in the game, so whats it going to look like for AMD GPU users, dull?

Turn off the nvidia tech and you should be golden.
What really puts me off about the high specs is what deverlopers usually deem playable. 30fps. If this game needs a 780 to run on ultra at 30fps it's going to be horrible.

Nah, They always exaggerate how different the game will look with a special, GPU specific 'tech'. Its the same story with TressFX and PhysX. If you know it is there, you'll notice it otherwise its not actually that madly changing.

30fps is good enough for console peasants so developers seem to think thats good enough for everyone.

Never tried that TressFX personally, looks good from the demo's. Just NVIDIA seem to be showcasing a lot of tech in that video, just wondering how much different it will look for AMD users. Probably not that much like.

They always do that, its the same with AMD.
I imagine it'll be fine considering what the consoles run.

Lol I'm still unsure if to get a console, just posted about The Witcher 3, can't believe that the full power of them is being used already so that games are still at 720p!

I hope they do lots of optimizations for the game, Don't think my rig can handle it based on the "Ultra Specs"..... ^_^

I'll be buying it for PS4 now I've got one. Could probably get good graphics out my PC but I like the comfort of a console. :)

I got the game earlier today. I have to say the game runs like dog shit even on my rig.

I was seeing 3GB VRAM usage on both my GTX 780's with the highest ultra settings and it didn't even look that good. I lowered the settings and managed to get the VRAM use to around 2.8GB and then the FPS went up significantly but it still ran very poorly.

There is noticeable input lag, the whole game just feels very laggy and unresponsive.

Theres lots of annoying problems. One of which is you cannot change the mouse acceleration in menus. So your aiming in-game can be calibrated perfectly, soon as you need to move the mouse around on a menu it's zipping across the screen like speedy gonzales.

NVIDIA says this game supports NVIDIA Surround, haha no. It doesn't. Not even a little bit. The whole game squishes down for some reason when surround is activated so you lose about 50% or more of the vertical space and it just blows it out the sides. It looks ridiculous and is unplayable in surround.

Overall the game feels like a really poorly ported console game and I'm confused by this experience because we were told it was a made for PC title that was being ported to consoles so I'm really disappointed.

I would not recommend spending £40 for it that's for sure. Even with my killer rig, 26% OC'd GTX 780's in SLI with an OC'd 3930K to 4.7GHz with 32GB of 1866MHz RAM it still ran like crap. Maybe something they can fix in a few patches, though I doubt that will fix anything.

How are you guys playing it if it releases on the 27th?

Yeah, how are you playing it before release?

Also, i bet Nvidia will release a driver in a day or two to help optumize it, being an Nvidia game.

I just hope it doesn't run as bad as AC4 does on AMD cards, especially given Nvidia's gameworks doesn't allow AMD to optumize drivers in any proper way.

I got an early access copy to play. The street date is still May 27th.

Nice one.
