Watch Dogs Pc specs

It's a console port what did you expect. Just look at GTA IV, i expected similar results.
I'll take it when it's down to 5 euros.

Actually for once it isn't a console port, Developed first on the PC then ported to consoles but still has poor optimization on PC :(

thing is GTA IV with some mods, can and DOES run AND looks better than this.

Why would we not want games to use more RAM? The majority of gamers have 64 bit machines now. I'm sick of seeing 32 bit games capped at 2GB, why must we battle with memory constraints? It only seems a lot because we are used to 32 bit games, doesn't mean it's unoptimised (yeah I know it doesn't run great at the moment but RAM usage isn't direct relation to that).

Blame the devs for being lazy, with the memory they have spare these days they don't know what to do with it all, they no longer need work hard to make it fit under 512mb,they do not care about bloated code,it seems.

If you believe that Ubi developed this for PC first then you are a fool, after all Ubi thinks all PC gamers are pirates.

Effective memory management is not trivial. New games may not fit in a small memory footprint like old games, but old games don't have open active worlds the size that games have these days. The other alternatives are to stream data in from a HDD/SSD, that is WAY slower than loading it from RAM into cache. You can call them lazy but until you've worked in the games industry faced with these challenges, this statement comes across as pure ignorance.

But in my opinion most of the pc gamers pirate the games in the first place, but some of them make a wise choice and buy the game if they think its worth the money.

I do it this way, if i enjoy the game then i do buy it, why should i pay for a game that i didn't enjoy and only played for 10 minutes

That is a terrible argument. Youtube offers more than enough possibilities to determine whether a game appeals to you or not, there is no need to pirate a game to use it for testing purposes. As if you bought every game you enjoyed, it's far too convenient to just use the pirated version once you've pirated it.

Not a fool it's just fact.
They did develop it first for PC in mind it's not hard to see, It was first showcased on PC, Doesn't mean PC users get good performance though.

From a gaming site:

The Watch Dogs PC version has leaked to torrent sites around the globe, but reports are coming in that the most popular torrent is riddled with malware.

Many users who are downloading pirated copies of Watch Dogs, which ironically is a game about hacking and nefarious technological intrusions, are finding that it comes bundled with a bitcoin mining virus that is causing huge CPU power consumption and the dreaded blue screen of death…

;)

Alanis Morrisette take note; that is irony. Justice too.

Games are starting to utilise the memory made available to them, to the betterment of us gamers. For example, Wolfenstien: The New Order takes up to 2.9Gb of vram at 1600p.

I'll reserve judgement on Watch Dogs until I see it running on my own system, later in the week.

Why can't i set my texture settings lower than medium! the game is eating up 1.19gb of vram and my gpu only has 1.28gb vram and it sometimes causes stuttering! i hope they fix vram usage because the requirements say that a lower spec gpu with less vram (1gb) should be ok.

Try editing the gameprofile in

And change it to low in there.

I don't understand how people with 1gb vram can play this game, as my vram usage is around 980mb-1.14gb vram on lowest settings

God sake be quiet people, "ugh console port" well I did the right thing for buying this on PS4, slate consoles all you want but its you lot that won't be playing it on PC.

Couldn't agree more. There are plenty of YouTube vids, Reviews ect not sure on Demos, but as for piracy, it's just not right in any way these days even just to "Try" before you buy. Like sneaking into a cinema to watch the whole film before you decide to pay...

Good news guys, according to videocardz AMD will be releasing their 14.6 drivers within the next few days which will offer a 25-28% performance gain and CF profiles.

Should run smooth on Ultra with new drivers then :)

To the guys talking about piracy, just to make clear, I have preordered the game but I have just downloaded it from "other" sources to play early.

I do this with all games if I can, however I don't download games I have not bought or preordered.

Very nice, Will this 25% - 28% boost only be for Crossfire configurations though ?

The 25% should be for single cards, but CF scaling should be pretty high.

This is provided that this is true.

As for this piracy topic, If your using it to see if you like it or not you should really be looking at reviews or lets plays for that info and if you own a last gen or current gen console consider renting the game.

I preordered and even then I don't like the idea of pirating it even for early access despite Ubisoft having my money.

'cept its an x86 console. No excuses for a crap port. It also won't run nearly as good on console without sacrifices. Point in hand the ps4 doesn't run it in 1080p/60fps. A PC has the raw power to run the game well, a console on the other hand will struggle, I hate to think how badly the xbone will run it...

New drivers will come out and the performance will be fixed, not sure why everyone is angry that a game thats supposed to be all next gen that hasn't been out for a bit has poor optimization and looks like bum. The poor graphics can be fixed by modding and the optimization will be improved over time. This isn't 2008 anymore, pc gaming makes more money than the entire console market and patching is going to be easier.
