Watch Dogs Pc specs

Yeah, how are you playing it before release?

Also, i bet Nvidia will release a driver in a day or two to help optumize it, being an Nvidia game.

I just hope it doesn't run as bad as AC4 does on AMD cards, especially given Nvidia's gameworks doesn't allow AMD to optumize drivers in any proper way.

I already have the NVIDIA optimised driver with SLI profile etc

Still runs like crap.

Not even surprised that it runs badly.

I was gonna buy the game but after I saw this chart, there's is no way I'd pay more than £5 for it on principle, no matter how good the game turns out to be. It screams loudly "this is a money grab".
I mean seriously, not even one edition has all the content included. If you want everything you need to buy 5 editions... that's just outrageous.

I'd encourage everyone to not buy the game on release or any "collectors editions", buy it later at a discount.

Will it run on lowest settings at 1440x900 with my gtx 570 (ONLY 1.28GB VRAM).

What cpu usage is everyone getting with this game?

Holy Vram usage, seen it go up to 3.2gb :o
Time to buy one of those 8gb 290s J/K

Getting between 30-70fps on Ultra with Temporal SMAA. MSAA is not worth the performance hit, I prefer SMAA anyway, MSAA looks naturally smooth and blurry to me. Disabling motion blur seems to give a slight FPS boost as well.

I'm sure new drivers and or a patch will improve performance though, lets not forget it isn't officially released yet.

I also saw insanely high VRAM usage. It literally goes from 380MB at the desktop to 2.8GB (!!) with high (not ultra) settings just as your player loads in to the world.

Insane. Saddest thing though, it doesn't even look that great on high. I've seen other games look better with less VRAM usage.

I'm looking forward to patches and newer drivers but *shrug* I don't see how they are going to optimise a game that recommends 6GB of RAM and has 4GB as a minimum requirement in to running better.

We'll see.

The graphics in some places don't seem that good but there are loads of places where it looks truly amazing. Daytime seems a bit washed out and the lighting is a bit flat, night time definitely looks better.

Here are a couple more screenshots.

Is this at 1080p? Ugh, I was hoping I could run Ultra 1440p like i could on AC4 :(.

I guess I'll see how it performs when it is released. Hopefully AMD can get a driver out for this.

Yep, 1080p.

Performance is pretty bad, the FPS is all over the place with lots of stuttering and lag here and there. It definitely needs a patch or a new driver from AMD.
I can't imagine 1440p performance being very good if 1080p is anything to go by.

Just to recap my previous post, I'm playing it at 2560x1600 - The lag at this resolution is really bad. Even on high settings. The game offers several settings, the recommended settings for my system is Ultra which is just completely unplayable.

Ugh, I'm very disappointed then. My Vram requirement will be obscene then too.

If any other recent ubisoft/Nvidia gameworks titles are anything to go by AMD might not be able to patch it much, given the gameworks code cannot be seen/optimized by Ubisoft or AMD which essentially makes AMDs performance in many ways is dictated by Nvidia.

It's a console port what did you expect. Just look at GTA IV, i expected similar results.
I'll take it when it's down to 5 euros.

Why would we not want games to use more RAM? The majority of gamers have 64 bit machines now. I'm sick of seeing 32 bit games capped at 2GB, why must we battle with memory constraints? It only seems a lot because we are used to 32 bit games, doesn't mean it's unoptimised (yeah I know it doesn't run great at the moment but RAM usage isn't direct relation to that).
