PV's new pad

Thanks all for the kind comments, it's great to have some positive feedback on our new home. Just to update:

* contract is in the hands of our conveyancing lawyer now, just to make sure that everything is above-board and that they aren't going to acquire the house from us to build a new freeway etc lol.

* Under Queensland law and because we have signed the contract with intent to purchase the property, we are now responsible for insuring the risk. That is, we have to have insurance on the property to cover 3rd parties in case something happens (i.e one of the trees in our garden falls on the neighbours roof during a storm). This really sux because it will be around 15 - 30 days before we can hopefully move in, and the current owner is still living in the property.

I was looking for another thread and came across this one!

Nice crib monseir Fogg! Once you move in and decorate/furnish to your tastes that will be a lovely family home for you and your family to enjoy many happy moments together :)

You ought to see the fees involved with buying a house in the UK, hell, you should see what you get for your money here!

Thanks mate. The building and pest inspection was done today and it was given the all clear...phew! We should find out tomorrow for sure that everything is ready to go with our finance (valuation and finalisation of the loan).

I'd move to the UK in a heartbeat, but the thought of renting for the rest of my life there puts a dampener on it. Our currency sucks so bad that we'd lose so much in the exchange it's not funny. Anyone want to adopt PV and clan? lol

Why would you want to move to the UK?

It makes me laugh because people here would probably jump at the chance to go to Oz... The grass is always greener?

Yeah the grass is always greener. I've always wanted to go to the UK as I have family there that I have never met before...Plus it's the lure of your history, snow, beautiful countryside and everything else that isn't remotely like Australia.

I know what you mean. It does amaze me with people wanting to come on holiday.. can I recommend anything ?

Wales - and save-up your money before you come as you`ll need double your money, and don`t expect the same service for it.

Nice house man! =], I know where i'll be staying if i ever go to Australia :) lol

Hmmm, UK prices are horrible, hopefully the government will mess up the economy and down will the house prices go yay! lol:yumyum:
