After purchasing the motherboard and monoblock, I've just been completely put of budget so I couldn't go and order a CPU and RAM straight away. In the mean time though, I've done these few bits
First thing was replacing the semi modular Cooler Master PSU. I know it wasn't a hugely important thing to do, but with space on this build being such a premium, the current setup of having excess cables tucked behind the pump and cable extensions bulging everywhere, it just made sense. So I picked up this RM1000X from Corsair as I know I can easily get custom braided cables for it.
I then did a bit of work running the cables for everything I could without a motherboard. Not the neatest I know, but there's a lot going on back there!
Next, I replaced that ugly (imo) GPU connector block and replaced it with two Alphacool single card adaptor blocks and once I had that roughly sorted, I finally did a test fit.
I'm really please with how well everything fills the case. I've pretty much got the same amount of hardware as I had in the HAF X I started with, but just packed in to a smaller box. I may have mentioned before, as much a I love the huge impressive towers, the empty space those builds usually have is a real pet peeve of mine. Well that and unnecessarily long tubing runs
All there was to do then was wait until I have the budget for CPU, RAM, braided cables and an M.2 drive.
So in the mean time, I picked up a plexi connector set for the GPUs as well as adding some white under the lenses to really make the logos pop.
Finally, I added some vinyl to the top of the cards and the SLI bridge. I've ended up getting MSI GPUs and a mobo so I thought i'd push it a bit. Plus, their dragon logo is super cool. Even if it was a right pain to cut and weed.
More to follow soon.
