you sir...

have a lot of patience and wits about you :)

Cheers m8. Total PITA but hopefully it will be worth it.

more patience then this guy, but I guess as my daughter gets older, shes 3, the patience will come.

awesome job on the braiding though

I have a 9yr old son and a 4 year old daughter...does that count?:p

Nice job on the braiding mate. :worship:

I thought about doing my PSU, but the fans were enough for me, I hate doing braiding with a passion :p

Not so much of an update but an extension of the braiding session. I've finally done with the 3mm braid! Yay for me :D

ATX24 + 8Pin done previously.

Now I've also done four sets of 8pin PCIe cables. I had a little trouble with these as the hole in the plug seemed to be smaller preventing correct fitment of the braid + heatshrink. I tried various measurement but found the best to be sealing the heatshrink up as far as the metal on the pin as follows:

With this measurement, both the braid and shrink fit nice and snug into the plug without preventing the metal tabs from latching. None of the cable is visible either which, afterall is the whole point of braiding.:

Rather than have the whole cables braided separately for the full length (which looks nice but messy when installed imo), I opted to seal the cables a third of the way up with just one large piece of braid. This will hopefully allow for neater cable tidying when building the rig up.

Almost done now. I might do a little something with the plugs to jazz them up a touch.

Next for the SATA, Molex and misc cable braiding...I swear it's never ending:(.

Great job on the sleeving, however if you used tape or heatshrink over the cables first on the white, it would like better, but apart from that looks really good :).

Yeah I did try using tape but it made the wires so stiff it put me right off as cable tidying would be a 'mare.

Fantastic build so far, i'm hooked!! Any updates?? Looking to build a pc around the ascension case when funds permit

It looks like this build will be great. It convinced me to order an Ascension! I did not have the funds like Rumbler but since I was so hooked on MM cases, I asked Mr VISA to do me a favor!

Can't wait to see W3bbo's next update!

Once again, sorry for the (very) long break between updating this project. Sorry to both my sponsors and just as importantly, the members of this forum who have been so kind with their comments thus far. I'm not the type to give up on anything and intend to complete this rig if it kills me! Anyway, I've finally sorted most of whats been going on in my life so it's time to get this project back on track.

You may remember that I fitted two Thermochill PA 120.3's to the front panel and those more astute among you may also remember that there is actually room for four PA 120.3's. Well I went and did it, I fitted four :D.

Having a bit of spare time on my hands this week, I sprayed up the remaining two rads and fitted them to the case complete with 6 enermax twisters and colour coded fan grills:

The first one was fitted above the other two but due to clearance issues come tubing time, this one was not fitted with a shroud. The front fans on the rads attached to the case will be working as intakes, sucking cold air from outside the case over the rads.

The fourth rad is positioned low down to the rear of the case. While this rad will not recieve clean cold air (sucking air from inside the case, acting as an exhaust) it should still prove cool enough to keep the chipset cool....and it would have been rude not to make use of the space for another rad .

Starting to look a little cramped in the bottom half of the case so I think that'll do for the cooling capacity of the 'Angel'.

Next up - Pump mounts.
