Project: Angel

The colour is just a bit too white. Seems a bit Apple-esque.

Made me think cheap loooooool.

You needs a blue tint :p

Update:

Everywhere appears to have sold out of the Enermax 120MM clusters so I was left with a shortfall of 6.

Having done a serious miscount on the amount of fans I needed (got 10 - need 16), Enermax have come up trumps again and are sending out another 6. Big thanks to Enermax!!

I can now crack on with the build - sorry for the delay guys!

Other Jobs to do:

Clean both rads

Spray both rads

Mod a memory cooler to match the build

Spray EK FC280GTX backplates to match

Still to purchase (among other things):

Lot's of (White)

Tubing (white)

2 x Reservoirs (EK or XSPC - dunno yet)

Bitspower goodies

CPU Waterblock (still undecided on this)

2 switches

Dude what a wicked........ I mean saintly bulid :D sorry forgot about the whole theme of the build!!

Seriously this is going to look awesome, I'm picturing it in my head already as I scroll through the pages.

Nice job Webbo! Can't wait to see it finish, I hope you get pictures of every angle once it is complete.

Update:

While waiting for the rest of the fans to arrive from Deutschland (Enermax) I found the time to do a few more mods. Well make that spraying a few more items to colour code the rest of the build.

The Black skin of the Thermochills would have stuck out like a sore thumb as they were so I went for a satin white flavour here. I also did the same to the shrouds.

Here's the bits and bobs I have lightly sanded down to give the paint a key to work to:

and the rads drying off after a couple of rub downs with wet and dry and a final top coat:

For fitting the shroud I wanted to use the same button head screws used on the Ascension case so every matches up where possible:

Heres a few shots of the finished rad assembly:

More to come soon...

Got a couple of these to cool the memory down. These will also be going on a fan controller to run silently. They still need braiding but will do this when I get to the mammoth braiding sessions laying ahead of me. I also need to do something about the black thumbscrews.

Sorry if it's already been asked before, but what's that sexy keyboard of yours called? I'm quite a fan of low profile boards and in the market for one that doesn't have failing keys every week like my current one.

I'd say paint the small screws white and keep the thumbscrews as they are at the moment. That should keep some contrast but remove the irregularity it currently has.

It's an old hyper that I'm being forced to use as a spare until the logitech G19 surfaces.

Oh, I almost forgot to say, I cleaned the rads before spraying them up.

The 'green' bottle was from my own rad which has been used with distilled only for about a year. The Pink ones were from a rad I bought second hand. The first runs with distilled vinegar were left to soak for 12 hours. I know this is not neccesary to get rid of the flux as it's now waterbased but as you can see, after a year or so's use things start to get gunked up again pretty quick, even without additives/dyes!

After the long soak I then flushed the old vinegar out with boiling water a few times and re filled them with clean vinegar again. This time the results were better but not perfect so I repeated the process a few more times until the emerging vineger was clear (last bottle).

I DO NOT recommend doing this yourself as Vinegar is acidic (although in this case about 4.5% iirc) and as such it can eat through metal over long periods of time so be carefull if you plan on cleaning your rads this way. Normally a good flush with hot water is enough but evidently not in my case.

Rads fitted to the case.

Also fitted the rest of the Enermax Clusters to the front (all to be controlled via fan controller). It would be a shame not to power them up wouldn't it?

Must admit, I'm quite taken with this build:cool:.
