Looking to upgrade Radeon HD 6670

No idea where to go with this. I want to spend £250 max and get the most bang for my buck. If at all possible, let me know if going from 200 to 250 makes all that much of a difference?

Also, this might not even be possible. But i'd love the card to look good in my Blue themed build. No idea if thats going to be realistic, but figured i'd ask all the same

Seeing as you're no stranger to AMD cards a 7950 would be a princely upgrade.

Look at the Gigabyte Windforce card as I think it has a blue PCB.

Well for that price range you have two options.

Either an HD 7950 (I personally rather XFX DD Edition):

Or the only other step down within the price range would be a 660 Ti (I personally prefer EVGA)

As for color, I'm not sure to be honest. You could always add in some blue LED strips, but personally unless you have a windowed case, I wouldn't worry too much.

okay, well the reason i'm looking at some AMD Cards, specifically the 7870 LE Tahiti, is because i've found some good deals where i get a few games thrown in, and because the amd thing kinda goes well with my AMD processor i guess (bit of continuity, don't know about compatibility although i've heard its fine none the less)

I've got a windowed case yeah an R4 white windowed, so colour hmm...i guess you only really see the top anyways

Well if I were you I'd just stick with the 7950 I linked. You can always buy games later on, whereas re-upgradeing your GPU will be very costly.. Plus, I'm sure there's a couple of deals on some 7950's out there.

Yes definitely 100%. At £219 it's also well cheaper than the one I linked from Scan, and gives Crysis 3 + Bioshock, so it's a win win.

Are you so hellbent on making my life in insufferable?.. There's nothing wrong with Dabs at all. I personally wouldn't buy from there, I only ever shop at Scan, eBuyer or Aria. But Dabs is a perfectly fine site, and to miss that particular offer would be simply idiotic.

I don't know what you're thinking (Obviously), but there's nothing wrong with XFX either. I have known a couple of people to have coil whine in their XFX 7950's, but that can be said for anything. I know several people who haven't.

Dabs are owned by British Telecom. That's obviously the first part of the problem (oh,and they still use Yodel and Hermes.).

The second part of the problem is firstly the DD cooler. It's pants. Secondly XFX rate among the, if not *the* worst when it comes to customer service.

Their policy is strictly return to where you bought it from only. Dabs RMA is a serious pain in the ass.

I'm not dead against getting a 7950 cheap, however I would definitely use Aria for it. At least then you will get some sort of customer support (here if all else fails) as they are on the ball.

You'd be amazed how uppity Dabs get if you've had a card for ten months and need to return it.

Good customer service costs money.

I guess by that you mean you don't care what courier they use? hard to tell. However, when you bring into question a courier that repeatedly lose things and fail to find the address they are delivering to then it matters. You seem to want to skimp and cut to save just a few pounds.

That's probably why you are prepared to advise some one to go ahead and buy a crap GPU, given XFX's track record for providing, you know? crap GPUs.

Look dude, I'm not looking for an argument here but I think you need to do some more research before coming here and trying to ram your 'point' home. The reason I call it a point is because good advice, solid, sound advice is to go with the right product. Not something just because it's cheap, because it doesn't matter how cheap it is should you have a problem and need customer service. GPUs are among the highest failing products of all computer parts given their nature to produce a lot of heat and use a lot of power.

So you agree that Dabs can be sketchy. Why on earth would you advise some one to use a company that can be a royal PITA?

The main consensus around here is getting what you pay for and having a good consumer experience. Something that Dabs, even on a good day, struggle to provide.

Woah.. Calm down a little dude. You say I need to do a little more research.. Well sure that's fair enough, one is entitled to an opinion. I've been a Tech "Enthusiast" For a number of years now and learn something new every day. But it's kind of hard to take you serious when you say you're not trying to start an argument when you're going to call upon my intelligence. As a response, I think you need to stop trying to complicate things and seem like such a smart butt.

You can say this and that and whatever you want. Fact of this matter is, the product the guy bought is perfectly fine, and if there may be a problem, we here can either resolve it, or he can contact the manufacturer/product supplier and get his money back. If the courier/store were as bad as you claim them to be, they wouldn't be in business.


Now what do you say enough of this? Regardless of what either of us say, the OP has already bought his component.
