Hello all,

My 1080p Hp Pavilion 22xw monitor just broke and that got me thinking whether it is time to upgrade my GTX 670.

I was thinking of getting a 1080p 144hz monitor. I mainly play DotA2, Stardew, Minecraft and other light games.

My current set up is a ryzen 5 2600 with GTX 670. Perhaps getting a cheaper monitor + GPU upgrade would be better? I was hoping to get the RTX 30xx cards, but they are not available anywhere.

Regardless, any good monitor recommendations. I will not be going beyond 1080p. For a monitor I am willing to spend up to £200, but I might probably be better off getting a cheaper monitor with a new GPU.

Monitors I have been considering:

BENQ ZOWIE XL2411p - £190
Acer Nitro VG240Ybmiix 75Hz - £120

I'd say get at least a 27" with decent framerate then look into something like a 5700XT would be a decent card and not overly priced or wait for the 6700 cards or get lucky on a 3000 series, i think your be able to get a decent monitor for less than 200 put the extra towards the GPU.

Honestly with the games you play and the resolution you play at there isnt much point waiting for a 30 series card.. I would go for a 1660ti, RX5600xt or 5700xt.

In regards to the screen I would make sure it was at least 144hz with freesync as it makes for a much better user experience even just using the pc for day to day use.
