Hi guys,

Wondering if you can help me, I'll try & keep the 1st post short otherwise you'll just loose interest.

I want to achieve a Home Server & Tuner Farm setup. Would you have them both in the same box, or would you build 2 boxes so that you have more redundancy, but then you have the overhead & cost of building & maintaining 2 boxes?

If you were to go down the single box route, it would need to be populated with Freeview & Satellite cards. It would also potentially need to have enough grunt to transcode a TV stream or Media stream to a tablet on the fly. If we're talking SB chip, what would you go for?

If you were doing all that in one, you would want to get a 3960K or 3930K to run the transcoding as fluid as you want... can be done, but if everything is being backed up while you want to watch tv, you could get a bit of lag
