Help with New PC Build Component

When in Windows, you should also make sure in your advanced power options to set the HDD to never turn off. This way, even at idle your SSD will have its garbage collection active and performing efficiently. It's to ensure the SSD won't suddenly turn off while your PC is sleeping or idle/inactive.

Hi CocaCola,

My OCZ Agility 3 has firmware 2.11 whereas the latest is 2.13. However I am running Windows 7 from my OCZ and their website has no mention of how to update the drive with WIndows running on it. Although they point out that a drive with Windows running on it cannot have the firmware updated using the OCZ Toolbox.

I will ensure I am running the OCZ as AHCI in the BIOS and also check all the drivers... Thanks for the tips!

I have 1 device in Device Manager listed as Unbknown Device, but cannot find the driver for it. COuld this be Bluetooth which I think is built onto my P8Z68? I cannot see the word Bluetooth anywhere in Device Manager...

BTW - Asus AI Suite says my CPU (whilst at 100 x 44) is runnig at 27 degrees C

and motherboard at 30 degrees C

AI Suite is known to have problems mate. You would be better off with HWMonitor or another better hardware monitor produced by an OC3D forum member (dugdiamond).

Follow the below thread to download the hardware monitoring software by dugdiamond.

Oh ya, that is another option to set. Before you sleep, you can safely log off Windows. This will ensure the garbage collection function is performing efficiently with minimal distrubance from Windows.

You may want to download the PDF from OCZ regarding not being able to update the firmware of a SSD used as primary boot drive.

http://www.ocztechnology.com/files/...Update_Guide_8_12_2011_Windows_consumer_2.pdf

Follow the guide in the PDF starting from pg. 4 - 10. It will guide you through updating your SSD's current firmware without having to remove the drive and make it a secondary drive in another system with a functioning Windows OS.

Hey, those are really good temperatures you're getting. If you're satisfied with this OC and assuming it's stable, it's ready for 24/7 use.

Glad I could be of some help, and you're welcome.

Yup, totally agree with you. Another good piece of software for checking CPU temperatures is Core Temp.
