Hi Everyone it’s my Daughters 16th in January and she is big gamer with games like fallout, crisis 3, farcry gta Even x3 and many others on PC / Xbox and she has come to realise the extra benefits of playing games on the pc what I am trying to do is hand over my pc which is
ASUS Crosshair Vl Formula
AMD X6 1100T 3.3 g
Sapphire Radeon 1024 6770
DDR3 1866 vengeance x2
Ocz Agility 3-60g
Corsair H60
Alpine 750watt
Siemens 22inch LCD
Got this back in the day from scan.uk All for £550-£600 I Know it’s not bursting with Extreme but it’s my Illusion of Extreme Happiness
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I only have £800 Budget that’s the max I can go. My Wife god bless Her Thinks my last computer will show up in the next life as a sign from the gods of a wise choice and a path to greater rewards well if it starts with £200 now it looks like Quantum + computing for me then
There is so much talk about AMD – Intel Price and Performance. I would like to overclock and get the most for my money or keep it to the mid high range on certain parts there is so many different spec cpu’s, motherboard’s, gpu’s it is mind boggling I want to look back in 24 months and say shit this is still good to go the crosshair and 1100t cpu clocked to 3.8 was easy and still good today I remember walking out of PC World with a £60 motherboard thinking quick get out of here they must of made a mistake. Now you need £60 just for the colour of it. I am left with, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire I’ve got three remaining options (50/50) Haven’t Got A Clue) (Phone A Friend) Billy No Mates) (Ask The Audience) That leaves you) I hope you can help me make a good choice and after all I want to see the big smile on my Daughters face Of The Illusion of Extreme Happiness

I know it’s daft but for the sake of £50 to £80 or even £100 in price difference in parts its more to do with putting the right parts into the mother board with Higher or lowering of my expectations when it comes to high gpu or lower cpu or high cpu lower gpu or even splitting to two lower priced gpu’s to balance it out do you know what I mean. (I feel a tumble weed moment coming here) Here’s my for instance
Motherboard
Asus ROG Maximus VI HERO Intel Z87 Socket 1150 Motherboard £158.24
Intel Core i5 4670, S 1150, Haswell, Quad Core, 3.4GHz, 3.8GHz Turbo, 1200MHz GPU, 34x Ratio, Retail £165.78
Memory
8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Pro Series Red, PC3-19200 (2400), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 11-13-13-31, XMP, 1.65V
£89.76
GPU
Asus HD 7770 2GB AMD Radeon Graphics Card £99.99
Case
Cooler Master v1.0 Test Bench Case for PC £43.99
PSU
Alpine 750W Quiet Silent PC Power Supply PSU 120mm Fan £19.25
Total
£577.01-Leaves £223
The main problem I am having is the monitor I would love to have a larger screen 28-30inch LCD Even TV combo have seen for £189 I want to see and feel the full experience of having a somewhat good pc I know it’s a squeeze but if I go for say 22-24inch maybe a saving of £30-£40 tops I just won’t feel that Illusion of happiness

Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE Intel Z87 Socket 1150 Motherboard=£148.64- Leaves £232
Asus MAXIMUS VI IMPACT, Intel Z87, S 1150, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, SATA RAID, PCIe 3.0 (x16), DP/ HDMI, Mini ITX £179.84-Leaves £200
Leaves room for 28-30 inch 1080p monitor hopefully from local retail store for just under £200
After all that no ssd drive to boot if it mean trying out other motherboards I am open to it
I just don’t want to feel the ego of each part that’s put together I want to feel and see it for the price that is at hand and be surprised for once
I appreciate all of your knowledge and wisdom concerning all things Artificial and Intelligent

Thanks

Well first thing I see that needs to change is the PSU. That brand is terrible. change it for this. Next on the list is the motherboard. You can't overclock that cpu so you can get a cheaper motherboard.

If you mainly use the PC for Gaming than I would definately go for a stronger GPU than a 7770.

By the way, why do you want a benchtable?

What about something like this:

Alernatively a 7870 instead of the 7950
