Just a thread if you are doing a maintenance to your F@H rigs :)
because it isn't really annoying i thought i simple start this thread...

Of course with a reason , i am going to maintenance both my rigs untill after the weekend.. so i hope my GTX570 is in the house and i can build it all up again...!

So a headsup that my PPD will drop to the floor ;)

Happy Folding..!

egh, I need to do the same. Also need to top off my loop. Haven't been paying much attention as one of my rigs folding bigadv has been down for a week.

Great idea with the thread :D I like :)

I'm also doing maintenance to my HP XW6600. (Dedicated folding rig atm)

Been changing the PSU to a 730W BeQuiet one. (In anticipation of a 660ti soon to be folding in there) But for some odd reason the workstation gives me a power failure error with the new PSU and won't start up. Works perfectly with the one it came in. Bit stumped atm, need to stick the new one in and run more tests to see whats causing it

That is odd. I'm not sure if I have tried my XW6400 board with any other power supply than the one that came with it.

If I get a chance tomorrow I will have a tinker and see if I get the same error as you. Might help you trouble shoot.

Thanks mate :)

And I agree, it is a weird issue. The motherboard powers up, but when I press the power button, the fans spin up for a second, but no start up :s Then the power light on the front blinks red 4 times with a 2 second delay between every 4 times it blinks, indicating power failure. Not sure whats causing this :(

Well, I guess this counts - my evga gtx 670ftw gave up the ghost last week. EVGA has been great with the RMA. Luckily, I have a 570 around that is being used for a build for a friend, so I have that going until my new card arrives.

I am starting everything up again.. in about a hour,
quicker then i thought :)

I will only have a tiny maintaining when my GTX570 arrives..

Happy Folding..!

Not down for maintenance more something I had noticed about the HP workstations. They won't play nice with any other psu as far as I'm aware. I did look into this in some detail a long time ago and there is a signal asserted by the original (seasonic/delta) unit when it passes bist. I don't remember if you can fake the signal and force a start up though. Good luck guys.

Oh dear, This is bad news then :(

Don't want to mess around with signals and stuff. May end up killing the rig and the PSU. Think the standard 650W should be enough to run a medium end GPU for folding anyway.

Thanks for the help so far everyone :)

3% to go till my last G620 WU is done, LOL g620
still 1000PPD :o

Then i am going to replace everything with my new hardware i bought..........
al tho i still need to go to the bazaar (black market) to get me a new PSU...I totally forgot yesterday

Happy Folding..! and i hope to be back with a little more PPD ^_^

Well that buggers,
my motherboard doesn't support my new i5 3570k

This is what i get all the time...
5 Short Beeps Your motherboard is complaining. Try reseating the memory and rebooting. If that doesn't help, you should consider another motherboard. You could probably get away with just replacing the CPU, but that's not too cost-effective. Its just time to upgrade!

I am glad we have a bazaar with a computer place ,
so when my car comes back i am going to get a new mobo (i hope!).......

Bah, woke up early to get going BIG time :p

im still trying to get a stable system with proper volts, AT the best i have got it

4.2GHz @ 1.305v which for a 3770k is shocking

on the other hand temps are good though

Ouch, that's pretty low indeed mate :(
as long as the temps stay below 80c you are always fine with F@H :)

I am going away in a hour but from now on my 2x GTX460 is doing nothing ,
and my CPU is still sitting new ,
so i hope to have it Folding later this day........

This way i can still NOT play with my new GTX680 :nopity:

asus P8Z77-V LX

i know its he basic board but didnt think it'd be this bad

Anyways what i have done now is run it with AI suite, with a fast over clock as i wasnt able to make it stable manually, to get 4.5 i had to manually have the volts at 1.42v temps with the D14 were up in the 90's and wasnt happy with it, so i gave up and resorted back to 4.2 BCLK is @ 103 with x41 multi
