What board are you ordering?
Now that's a good question ,
its for my i5 3570k CPU , so if you have a good option i WILL listen to you matey
overclocking is a must as it IS for F@H !
Oo EDIT btw i always need to buy something its a weird thingy from me,
so i bought this,
I am RC freak and thought it would be fun a sphere RC thingy......

I have nothing but good things to say about my GD65, but the GD45 and '55 are both good contenders also.
I already thought in the MSI way as i always had good things about these boards,
i will order MSI , thanks buddy !!

because like this isn't the best way to Fold with cats and dogs and fish :lol:
Going in this case , going to make it blue methinks...

and it seems my GTX460 PPD is cut in half ?!
and i was looking for show your Folding room , couldn't find it so i will make a new one ones my room is cleaned up again

I have a question for all you veterans and figured this was a good thread instead of starting a new one. I'm running my i7 2600K at 4.5 right now. The weather in SoCal is finally starting to cool off, so I'm thinking of bumping up the OC. I got 5 fairly easy last winter, but it was too hot for my liking. Out went the hyper212, in came the h100, but the weather got so frigging (trans. bloody) hot that I settled on 4.5 for the summer. Is it worth it in terms of PPD to go back to bumping up the multiplier, multiplier, voltage, multiplier, etc. (lol) for the winter? Thanks in advance guys - and watch out top 30 - I'm coming for you 
In my honest opninion every little Mhz (PPD) counts,
as how faster a WU comes in the better (quote stanford)..
but its def not worth it, when temps go sky high or you need to many Vcore...
BTW my overclocks always go up in the winter,. then my rigs will be move towards my window

Got some maintenance and upgrade going on at same time. Haven't been folding for a while due to work but hope to start again.
Main mobo, cpu and ram is sold and for a while going to be using dedicated folding rig as main rig until my new, in progress, Classified build is complete

Looks like my folding rig will have a bit of down time.
My dad likes my XW6400 so much he wanted one. We went on ebay and found a XW6600 case with motherboard but no RAM, CPU etc. I'm going to have the board, should be able to experiment with overclocking, he will have my old board and two Dule Core procs. Win win all round.
Not sure how long my rig will be down for, maybe half a day depending.
Unfortunatly I'm away from my parents for a few days so I have had to drop GPU folding to keep heat down and with fingers crossed it wont be noticed the machines are on so at least they should be chewing through SMP units.

I hate to say this, but, after my present WU's complete I will have to pull the plug. The overheating issue is still with me. I was made redundant not long ago so getting the funding together for some cooling upgrade may take awhile 
I will be back, just don't know when.

Sorry for the late reply (notice) but i am moving homes ,
at least,
packing my stuff as i can't NO longer live where i live at the moment or the BOMB will go lose here
that aside i will Fold as longs as i can (and ON what i can :mellow: GTX680),
i am now in a empty room with a desk and just my 2x computers,
as i am waiting for a confirm on a new house and i don't want to go blank yet (F@H),
so i am starting as much as i can, up again...

I finally gave my machines a good cleaning and topped off the water level in my loop. I used a turkey baster lol as I only needed a little water and didn't want to make a mess of it with a funnel. I imagine not many people can say they used a turkey baster for computer maintenance.

So, as usual things never go as planned.
The XW6400 motherboard has been swapped for a XW6600 motherboard. Turns out the XW6600 doesn't like the E5300 series of CPUs. So I was aiming for a higher overclock, and ended with a machine I can't use, as my father has
already taken ownership of my old XW6400 board.
There is however some good news to all of this. My dad is going to buy a pair of E5450s and swap them for my E5345s. So he is going to get dual quad power and I am going to get a speed boost from 2.33ghz to 3ghz AND I will gain some PPD in the core tweaks the E5400 series have over the E5300 (think Q6x00 vs Q9x00).
