Console vs PC

Oh yea, totaly forgot i wasnt in a 360vsPS3vsWii battle here. On another forum immature kiddies are trying to say the PS3 is teh pw0nage and that the other 2 suck and you just cant compare apples to oranges. All i had to say was this.

Does the 360 do updates ?

Ye if a game or the console its itself needs updates it says there is an update available for this game then downloads and installs it. Then it reboots. Usually takes 30seconds (a minute for a big update) from start to finish

Yea like my Halo2 has been version 1.1 since the last Xbox LAN i had at my friends house. It said i had an update so i did it.

A year ago i would of said console hands down. But in the last year ive barely touched my 360 (had it since release....ish) There isnt really any game i want to play for it.

But lately i started pc gaming, counter-strike 1.6 becamse so much funn! just after being a console gamer for so long, keyboard and mouse takes a bit of getting used to.

There isnt really a winner, its just finding a good game you like on either. Plus wii is so good no matter WHAT!:worship:

it is personal preference

but for only gaming , consoles, $500-600 for 5 years, while pc's have to upgrade alot

btw, i like PC better :)

so dont think im biased

I would still have to say PCs have a better variety in games and playability.

Have to disagree with that one. I believe the consoles have more variety in their games. FPS, sports, fighting, driving etc. I know you can have all the console games on the PC but a lot of them are made for consoles and don't 'feel' right playing with a controller on the PC.

With regards to playability, what exactly do you mean. In terms of re-playability you may be right, but consoles are much easier to pick up and play over a PC.

I like a balance of PC and console games and I feel they both have their place for different types of gaming. :wiggle:

Most games for consoles get ported to PC so you have pretty much everything on a PC. Where as the feel, they all feel the same to me. Where i mean by playability im talking about most people say they dont feel right on a PC cause of the controler. Well you can have pretty much any controler on a PC so its all the same. The feeling is all in your head.

When I said variety, I didn't mean the amount of games - obviously the PC has much more games on it. I was actually referring to the way the games vary or differ from each other on consoles. Each game has a totally different feel, look and setup, whereas games aimed at PC gamers are usually FPS or strategy and all feel the same or similar.

Certain games are to be played on a console imo. Playing it on a big TV, sitting on a sofa and playing with mates is the best way to play them. Games such as worms, fighting games and sports games I think are best to be played in that kind of enviroment.

You can't say all games ported across to PC give the exact same experience as you do on a console. E.G Halo just doesn't feel the same on a PC for some reason, can't quite put my finger on it :eh:. Then games such as Forza, Guitar Hero and most movie based games are all made for console use.

Yeah happens back and fore.

Console Madden looks great, but sucks. PC Madden looks just ok (even on all max settings), but plays well and has more features. Saying that the console versions are different to each other.

By amount of games i meant like all of them. I play racing games mostly which most people want on console. I like them better on my PC cause they look better. As for fighting games and games like mario Kart 64 we plug them into my friends 50" plasma via my PC. Ever played 4 player Mario Kart 64 on a 50" with 5.1 surround on a PC? If you havent, you should!! Its hella fun!

EDIT: BTW you know that Logitech keyboard for the PS3? The one with the mousepad and shiz on it? Do they make something like that for the PC? Or can the PS3 one work on a PC?

The 5.1 doesn't worked and it looks scaled as hell.

nah, all you PC supporters are WRONG!:D :D :D

if i get a concole now, i wont need to think about spending more money to upgrade it every year for just that one or two games.

in the console world, people make the games that runs on that console, but in PC terms, people make the games that needs tomorrows year hardware to run it.

look at me PS2, bought in 2002, and im still playing it in 2007 with newer games! that'll never happen in PC terms, i can never play todays games with 2002 PC's, its doomed!

PC are money suckers for gamers......

soooo......you lot are waaaaaaaaay off the plot!

MUWAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHA:D :D :D :D :p

(quickly goes to pub before my arse gets grilled burger king style! LOL)

I understand that you feel you can port any game to a PC, plug it into anything and it's exactly the same as playing a console - fair enough. You are willing to move things around, set it up, hook everything up, get it working etc.

But from most gamers perspective i.e casual players and novice players, this is not practical. With a console, you just pop in the game, loads straight in, pick up the controller and go. Games consoles are easier to setup, no fiddling with drivers, resolutions, settings etc. Console games are pretty straightworward - thats playability!

As you said at the start of this thread, you didn't want a flame war so I guess it's best for us to agree to disagree here :). I love gaming on my PC when I've got a good few hours and a good game to get into, but I also feel there is always a place for a games console. Hell, it's where everyone started gaming right?

@weihk

I once used a PC from 2003 to 2006. Same hardware, and everyhing. Still plays all the games i run NOW.

Aye, im not Lazy! ahaha, jk jk. I know what your talking about. I just prefer better graphics!!

And by flame war, i meant people dissing each other, name calling. All that immature nonsense. This is casual debate. I love this! And its good, gets ALOT of good points out. Somethings, i didnt even know/knew.

Scaled? Are you kidding? A 64 plays at what 320x240 or w/e the old TV res was? Im playing 1280x1024 and the 5.1 sounds fine to us. Zleda has a surround feature that works semi good.
