Console vs PC

The pS3 is an awesome console, just has no games

Yet.

Im not at all in toutch with the console world anymroe. But tekkens next incarnation, GT5, GTA4, FF13, the remake of FF7 (I may get a PS3 for the sole purpose of playing that) and as tox said, time spilters.

I spose lots will get ported too other consoles too though.

tbh give it time and it'll get there (hoapfuly)

Also, can you you use a mouse + kb too play with the 360/PS3?

They've got USB ports, i dont see why they could inculde support for them...

So many great things about FF7, but I`d not play it again, even with a remake - unless it had a twist or 3.

Is the FF13 the ps2 written one `that happens to work on ps3` ?

torn on this one too seeing as I mostly use my PC for gaming and err browsing the internet for that stuff all men browse the internet for...;)

I did solve this porblem though and bought both, so now I have the best of both worlds, just seeing if I can get away with getting an XBOX 360 past the Wife to line up with the PS3 and Wii

Kemp was exporting a Wii not too long ago...

XBox 360 has all the makings of an excellent web browser and email thingy. Add keyboard, mouse and some storage thing, job done.

You can.. only if the game can use them.

When UT came out on the PS2, on the back of the box it said Keyboard and mouse compatible.

And so I plugged in a keyboard and mouse to the USBs on the PS2 and w00t! :D

It works!

I've never played FF7, but have always wanted to. If it is being remade on the PS3 with better graphics, talking characters, and nice cut scenes then I am all down for the game :D

I'm happy with both, PC is way better for some games, I stick to console for others (racing, sports, action/adventurey type stuff). I'm OK with the PC being more expensive as PC's kind of do a bit more than consoles ;) The other good thing about PCs is that they're generally way more backwards compatible - you can still pick up an old Baldur's Gate or Fallout and stick it on a new PC if you like, not so with say, for example, PS3/PSOne...

And as to the FF debate, FFVII still surely is the greatest game ever  IMHO of course. The card game might have been OK on FFVIII but it didn't compensate for the way Zell ran :D VI was better than VIII and banging your head against wall repeatedly was better than IX!!

I have to say I think I've played Gears of War more than any game ever...very close between Half Life 2 and Gears for sure.
Gears is about to be released for PC though and im sure it will look better than its 360 counterpart. Also, as for the FF7 remake, i heard that project was just a rumour and that it will never happen?? If thats a lie i just MIGHT buy a PS3 just for that. Also like was said, if the game supports the keyboard and mouse it will work. Cause even on the Xbox they had an adapter that you could plug in a PS2 keyboard and mouse (eww i know lol)

As to the racing games. I didnt even buy a controler, i made my own USB adapter with an old Busted up Xboxs ports that plugs right into my USB header on the motherboard. I play 64, NES, SNES, PSX, PS2, and PC games with this controler. (also Gameboy ect) Its the same as playing a racing game on a console. LIke seriously, Most Wanted on PC and Xbox feels the same. Cept Most Wanted on my PC looks SOOOO much better lols.

BTW thanx alot for everybodies opinions.

And FF7 is my most all time favorite game and it happens to be on console. So, im not exactly biased, i just play it on my PC.

EDIT: Noticed one more point, i dont think ive ever had more fun than playing Mario Kart 64 on my PC with 4 people in battle on a 42" TV and 5.1 surround sound ;) So, PC can be fun (cept its a console game lollll)

The interface and ease of use of a console far outweigfhs a PC. You don't have to hack a controller to play on your PC

That's another thing that's great about consoles

Yea but i see consoles as being created for a plug an play video game box. No extra nonsense, no e-

comps with who has the best hardware, no nothin but put a game in and go. Now you got internet, media centers, online gaming and all that extra stuff. Its not the same plug and play game as before and you have to pay for all the extra. Thats why, i prefer a PC. I can do all that all in one box as well, as well as do MORE. And i just plug my controler in and go lol.

Tbh, I hate how MS and Sony added so many extra features to their consoles. I just want a console to play good games and play online versus my friends.

PLEASE GIVE THAT BACK TO ME.

Nah all the extra stuff is damn cool. The 360 is a great piece of kit and the PS3 will be once it has some awesome games on it

I love my PC but sometimes I get so frustrated with faffing about with options and mapping controls to keys

All i do on my 360 is turn it on and go, everything works fine out of the box and there's no messing about.

No way can anyone say that a console isn't 200 times easier to game on than a PC

Hmm I reckon it's not more than 190 times better :D

Console definitely easier to 'game n go', but PC just more interesting, especially for anything cerebrally challenging ;)

lol name a cerebrally challenging game on the PC :p

FPS is undoubtedly better on the PC, but that's all I can think of tbh

EDIT: mebbe RTS and mmorpg, but I dont play em much tbh

Blimey I find them all really difficult, is it just me then

I did put a smiley!! But fair point cerebrally challenging was stretching it a bit :p I suppose what I mean is the more data heavy games and they do seem to play better on PC, sim games, strategy games etc. Even up until PS2/XBox, consoles just couldn't match PC on them, I haven't played PS3 or 360 so I don't know if it's a better experience on console now? I'd use console for the faster more all action games. As an example I'd play football management games on a PC but for football games themselves it has to be console.

And in my final defence your honour, most sims & strategy are more challenging in a cerebral kind of way ;) than say playing footie or racing a car around, I didn't say you had to be Einstein, mind, to play them

:) :) :)

A console that works is undoubtably an easier gamer than a pc.

FIFA sucks cheese infested toes on the pc. The 360 version is verging on pretty darn good.

There`s relationships back and fore of a port of one sucking more than the other. Madden`s another, looks slick on the console, but for me plays better on the pc. PC with MAX graphics that come with the game doesn`t look as good as the 360 one, there`s nothing as a user u can do about that, it`s how it`s written/designed.

Don`t like football management games on consoles. They seem to be written differently too. But then they`re only ported cos they`re big sellers.

I don`t have any controller probs for meh pc either mind u. I`ve just plugged it in and it works. But I can remember when they used to be pitas. Similarly the G15 keyboard, dim problemo (of course u need the utils).

FF7 has had it`s moment tbh. In it`s day it was the awe-capturing 40 hour to complete rpg fest. Not now tho, not without a major overhaul. (still got the ps1 saves on a card, and disc1 cos I traded it at EB and forgot the cd was in the machine >.< )

Yea all the extra stuff may be cool and all, but it takes away from the plug and go. Gives you more stuff to mess around with when in all actuality your trying to get away from your PC because of that right? So, i say leave it out so we dont have to pay for it. Get a PC if you wanna do that, or laptop or w/e. Just my opinion of course.

And I don't agree with it :)

I'm not sure what you mean by it's not plug and play....if you get a new peripheral it is plug and play. Buy a new game and it works offline and online immediately.

As I said it's farfarfar less hassle than playing on a PC
