Console vs PC

I dont intend this to be in any case a flame war. Just a simple group of opinions.

Anyways, me and my friend here are kinda in an argument becasue he said PC is dead. Spend a couple grand to give you more FPS and make your games smoother. Im like ahahha no, spend a few bucks every generation to upgrade certain features to make your games look a whole lot better than any console will be.

And on and on. What do you guys think? I personaly think if PC was dead they wouldnt be porting so many "exclusive" games to PC.:rolleyes:
 
PC isnt dead and I've never liked consoles.

The best thing about games on the PC is online gaming such as BF2 and CSS even though there is xbox live it simply is no were near as good also on the pc with the keyboard it's alot easier to control imo

The only thing consoles are good for is driving games but you could just plug a £20 xbox360 control into your PC any way
 
FPS is PC only, but stuff like Lara Croft is fun on consoles, some racing games are fun on consoles, etc.
 
I can see both sides.

I spent a fair ammont of money on my PC, went over to my mates house, played a few games on the 360 and left feeling very bitter that for £300 his console games looked better than my pc.

I bought the GTS a few months later and that bitter taste is still there. PC's are just inherently expensive. I'm sure they are capable of producing better graphics than the 360 it's just there aren't really any mind blowing games out there. Hopefully dx10 will wipe the smirk off his face but then he will always say '...and how much has it cost you?'

I have a pc because I like OC'ing and they are useful, I enjoy some of the games too
 
The PC isn't dead

It's the place where all the innovation goes on in terms of hardware. No PC = no decent consoles.

FPS is where the PC is king tbh, other games that are good a controller are where the consoles strength lies :)
 
Hmm i have both so :) im happy lol. Racing games definately console. Anything else is PC terriotry imo, because keyboard and mouse are alot easier to use :)
 
For me a console is only as good as the games written for it.

I have to be honest, slick looks do seem to get in the way of performance and content more and more these days - for all platforms. Riding on series titles as bankers too.

I like consoles, hell I`d buy a gamecube just to play Zelda. But there`s the pull for me, I`m more interested in Zelda than the gamecube.

If PS3 had a new Final Fantasy for it, specifically, I`d buy one 2morrow.

The pc is a game to me, with the ever entertaining m$ always there to keep u on u`r toes.

The console is best for either having fun in groups and playing racing / fighting games. The quality of the graphics on a console mean very very little to me, I still think that the Sega Megadrive is more fun that any console since :)
 
I have to say I think I've played Gears of War more than any game ever...very close between Half Life 2 and Gears for sure.

Games like that are what consoles are about: well made, great looking addictive fun games

dont forget frustrating, much rather smash up a PS2 controller than a £200 screen / £35 keyboard / £60 mouse lol

The lean to the pc for me is rts stuff, love rts. Also management.

Sensible World of Soccer is coming to XBox Live in the summer, suddenly I`m interested in having a go on an XBox 360 again lol. It`ll look retro also.

Gears of War looks very slick to me, didn`t hold any interest tho. If u like online stuff I`d imagine it`s awesome. Nephew liked it more tho.

Never forget the advice from the old arcades - "Don`t get frustrated, channel u`r feelings".. grasshopper. (Galaga)

Have to admit the frustration comes with windoes based pcs for me. Something along the lines of "Can`t find device" - but it`s in the port - ".. still can`t find device, have u plugged it in" - well freakin yeah it`s in the port and u spouted a balloon to recognize it - "Device found" - "Failed to install drivers" - but I have the cd AND a downloaded newer version - "Can`t find drivers compatible with u`r device" - but they came with it u idiot - "Warning, these drivers are not digitally signed" - they`re from Microsoft u moron - "Drivers installed, u must restart in order for the hardware to work properly and for me to place a yellow exclaimation mark next to them to show it`s not actually working"... and repeat.

Try telling me that as my skyline spins out on lap 19 of a 20 lap race on GT4 lol

I just have all the very fastest cars for the long races

1000BH{P Skyline with PERFECT handling (my mate stayed up all night tuning and tweaking it)

I just found out a new Timesplitters is coming to PS3.. Suddenly I want one! :D

(Plus Ps3 Fold)

But I really don't give a poo about the console itself. Unlike me and my PC.. "Love you baby"
 
I personally like PC gaming though I have nothing against consoles and find them rather fun. I'm different and would rather play racing games on my PC with my logitech momo racing wheel FPS...PC no doubt.
