Dav0s you can add my positive comment to your Idnet thread!

I just got home and am now on IDnet automatically upgraded to 2mbit from my old 1mbit wanadoo, on the day promised, no messing about, and great communication from Simon .

From the looks of this this is a great ISP at a great price.

You might not want to add my comment.

Just came home from work and...nothing :(

Was supposed to be on 2meg (currently I'm on 1 meg) and my modem still syncs at 1 meg and my IDNet username and password give an error. Still using my old ISP.

I bet it's my old ISP - they're rubbish

Just a few questions for ya mate as i havn't been following your progress:

1. What was the activation date of your IDNet account supposed to be?

2. Are you sure you have entered the password correctly? One of the guys the other day was entering an 'I' instead of a '1' (and he was an IT techie - lol).

If your activation date was supposed to be today and you are sure your password is going in correctly then give IDNet a call :)

lol I was entering a "1" instaead of an "l" for the dsl4 seciton of the username lol, looking back i feel foolish!

With my uncertain translations abilities I tend to paste in from source info. IE from the e-mail with account details. The mixing figures and letters should be considered beyond the pale and terribly bad form!! Its resulted in many a major cockup

Same here! the font they use makes a 1 and a l identical. tho dsl4 makes more sense than ds14 =/

Ether that or BT have yet to migrate you, they took 4 days to reply to my Old ISP confirming my migration, its safe to assume tis there fault.

sounds nice, unfortunatly, i just upgraded to 1mbps broadband from pipex, unlimited, 1mbps download, and 512k upload for £21.22 a month....

Thanks.

I was looking at Scan right now. They have a "no brainer of the week" on the TRENDnet’s TEW-435BRM. It's so cheap at £25 it makes me think it'll be a bit crap.

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/productinfo.asp?WebProductID=308550

I wouldn't touch Scan with a very long bargepole. Had a run in with them a few years back over a faulty GFX card. They said it wasn't faulty and wanted to charge me £10 + postage to return it to me, which I wasn't prepared to do since I'd spent a couple of hours rather than 2 minutes testing it, and it was faulty. They ignored threats of court action, trading standards etc, and I only got my money back when I posted to alt.comp.vendors (cheque arrived in 3 days - 6 months after the incident). Bunch of complete ******* (insert rude word here).

I'm currently with EFH Broadband, paying £9.99 + VAT pm for an unlimited 512Kbps line. The service is pretty good, but the price is going up to £15.99 for the same package. Time to move I think.

Samknows says I *may* be able to get 1Mbps but not 2 - I hate BT :ar:

Why are we (the UK) so behind when it comes to BB?

Anyway, 1Mbps for £14.99 is a bargin. Is there a time limit on this - will the price increase after a year?

Oh, and is there a migration fee to pay?

Thanks.

I have read through all the posts on this page and I would like to know if Idnet offer you a static ip address for this special price?

I found out it was a BT error. They initially passed my line on 2meg and then decided at the last minute to cancel the migration as my line can only support 1meg. But they didn't tell IDNet.

Simon was great about it though. He confirmed what had happened this morning and so I need another MAC code, but it's all cool. Still got my old connection.

I was wondering about that L and 1 too. I even loaded up Word and typed 1 and L in Courier font to check :D
