I love(, yes love!) IDNet! According to BT 2mb isn't available where i live, yet here i am using 2mb from IDNet, it is wow-ing the pants off me. Download speeds are fantastic, im getting up to 230kb a sec. Ping on counter strike is lowww.

Anyone that hasn't gone for this offer yet do it!

I wouldn't touch Scan with a very long bargepole. Had a run in with them a few years back

Yup, they used to be pretty awful. I remember reading a lot of bad stuff about them online a few years ago, and as a result didn't order anything from them for a long while.

However they've got *much* better recently, now one of the best. I had to return a faulty PSU to them recently and they were very quick at sending out a new one + refunding my postage costs. They also are one of the quickest e-tailers I've ever used in respect to replying to emails.

scan are probably the best large compuer e-tailer. the support on the hexus forums is great.

anyway guys, sorry but i have to urge you back on topic. :) broadband :D

Back on topic - I have a couple of questions:

- is there a time limit on this offer, i.e. will the price increase after, say, a year @ £14.99 ?

- is there a migration fee to pay?

thanks.

no time limit at the moment :) but im sure idnet reserve the right to yadda yadda

not sure on that one mate, someone can tell ya..

Theres no migration fee - IDnet dont charge you to move over to their network

so there really is no hidden costs atall!!

unless your new to adsl then there is the cost of hardware and ADSL activation.

thats a point if your new to ADSL do you have to pay for your line to be enabled or do IDnet cover the cost?

Regarding this activation if you don't have adsl, other ISP's are not charging me the connection fee, so why is idnet still charging?

It isn't IDNet who are responsible for the fee, BT are, and other companies will only not make you pay it if you sign a 12 (or longer) month contract, wheras with IDNet. you aren't on a contract, so you can leave them if you want to at any time.

One of the isps is also a month to month basis service with no charge. I am nowhere near my 50 posts before I can PM and get this offer and this is only working out £20 cheaper than another isp who is wanting to tie me down for 12 months.

I really need to place an order by tomorrow so I suppose I need to get me another ISP :(

Hi!

I'm new to these forums and have just stumbled upon this offer. I am currently on Bulldog LLU service. Could I migrate from Bulldog to idnet, or would it be a cease and re-provide(therefore paying connection charge). Bulldog's customer service is the worst ever, and their phone line which they make you take is dreadful. I would take the drop in connection speed for a reliable service!!

PM functionality is enabled after 25 posts, and you can always e-mail me if you are unable to PM.

Regarding the connection fee, if another ISP is offering it for free with no contract i'd take a close look at their terms because i doubt any ISP's would pay £50 for someone that isn't even tied into a contract with them.

They could well have a 'leaving' fee - which would cover their costs if you leave them within a year.

No no, I'm pretty sure that Bulldog are!! Well put it this way, I have been with them for almost 5 months now and I haven't received a single bill that has been correct yet!
