Well I have cancelled my Bulldog account. Got a 30 day notice period to wait now unfortunately! Can you send me the details of how to sign up for this offer and I will do when my 30 days is up. Cheers.

Blame BT, as they only do migrations once a week.

I don't understand what they actually 'do' for a migration. What happens on the actual day of mine and mrbeef's migrations as they are both bank holidays. Is it all automated or does some guy have to come in pissed after xmas and flick a switch?

They do them more than once a week!!!

Once you apply for a migration BT make you wait 5 working days before you can be migrated, i believe migrations are constantly happening theres just a waiting period for every person who requests one.

mr_fishbulb's migration is on the 26th and MrBeef's os the 27th so they dont happen once a week ;)

Well, they dont live in the same place. 5 days is a working week, so they can only happen once a week then :P

ermm okay - but thats not what you meant by the other post...

and persides why would you possibly want to migrate more than once in the space of 5working days?

and any way why does it make a difference?

Saw sb was working on a switch close to my house, wondering if having anything to with my migration? Possibly not.

No physical hardware changes have to be made at your nearest DSLAM - i think migration is all automated

Come on in the water is wonderful - just arrived back from a short stay in the bone shop to find page loading and downloading takes place in a superior manner to that from Plusnet. Contacting IDNet is more or less instantaneous. My Fritzbox Fon voip router appears to be very compatible with IDNet. So thanks to XMS and Simon at IDNet - this is one superior product!

I guess having Tiscali tied to your line would be akin to having it possessed by the devil.

Hope you get them off soon.

They're an Italian company aren't they? So a catholic priest might be pretty apt.

I may have problems finding a priest at they moment. They all seem pretty solidly booked. Is there something going on in their calendar that I've missed??? :-)

I Believe that Tiscali no longer run on the DataStream service therfore there is no waiting time for your line to be released - its all IPStream now like most ISP's

I think the problem with Tiscali is more likely to be one of getting through on the phone and getting a MAC code out of them. I've read some horrible things about people trying to leave on other forums.

Not quite right, afaik Tiscali are only IP Stream when they cannot connect a client to the Datascream service, as it is not as widespread as IPstream is. Still crap either way.

It's amazing how companies like Tiscali manage to stay in business with such a bad rap.

I'm sure their business model must highlight the fact that there is only a finite number of gulible people in the world.

Still, why keep an existing customer happy when you can just replace them with a new victim... er... customer.
