Xonar STX + headphones + SP2500

Hey guys,

I was just curious as to whether or not I will be able to have both the Corsair SP2500 speaker system plugged in as well as my headphones. I've actually never owned a 2.1 speaker system, and AFAIK they only use red/white, but I'm confused as to whether the sub needs an input as well. Would it just run off the red/white?

I'm confused by this statement. Are you telling me I can plug my headphones into the speakers themselves and get the same quality from the amp in the soundcard?

yes. Unless there is a separate headphone port on the back of the card that the Corsair speakers are NOT plugged into that is meant for headphones.

Well there is a seperate headphone jack, but I didn't think the amplifier would work with the speakers mic input. I hate soundcards

If you want access to the separate headphone amp that the STX comes with, you will most likely need to plug you headphones directly into that. (WARNING DO NOT PLUG SPEAKERS INTO IT). The reason they do this is because it is a high end sound card, and the less devices between the card and the headphones the less quality loss. Reason for the direct input for it.

You dont need this exact cord, but you need a 1/4 male to 1/8 female cable.

Oh excellent. I was originally going for the Fatal1ty, but you convinced me otherwise and I read a review from Steroephiles. I think I'll just leave my speakers in the onboard and then put my headphones into the card. Thanks for all the help +50
