Those little annoying F@H things ..

Finally have my i7 930 doing some decent PPD. It was averaging around 8000 PPD at 4GHz. I set both of my GPU console clients to use -advmethods. The top card was hitting 96C though, so I took off -advmethods on that card. With only one card doing -advmethods, my CPU PPD is now at around 15k, almost double!

Nice. My PC is currently doing a 3200 point WU, which is taking an age. Will get about 24K points from that so it's all good.

Those -advmethods GPU units can really crank the heat up. Have you tired dropping the voltage a tiny bit on the GPU to see if its still stable?

My Asus 560 Ti is factory overclocked and the stock core voltage is 1.05, I can drop that to 1.012 and still be stable with the factory clocks.

The other 560 Ti I have is just an Inno3D card which looks to be reference and is already running at quite a low voltage 0.987 (I think).

Might be worth a look if it can get that card running -advmethods too

Not really a little problem,

as i just for the love of my muppet can't start the CPU and one of my GPU's, they just hang and do nothing
blink.gif

its that time again, that i finally getting up to my PPD and BOOM problems

EDIT oo wait i think stanford servers are down ,

any one else having this problem ??

Checking stanford servers BRB.......

EDIT2 that's NOT it god%#!^^!@&@&

Everything's going smoothly here now but I did have an SMP hang last night, simple pause & unpause fixed it.

It does seem i can't get new WU's as the work folders are empty,

i'll wait and hope i get something later , first training

Happy folding........

I'm not getting any units either. Getting continued:

in my log file too. Also can't get onto http://www.stanford.edu at the moment, so guessing it's all down

Edit: Back up and running now.

finished a wu11020 during the night, and its been trying to send it to stanford for hours but it keeps failing.... arggg

it says

thanks for the info

So do i just leave it to keep trying to reconnect?(i'm using gpu tracker v2 and it not moving to a new wu)

or is there a way to fold new WU and keep trying to send it every so often so i don't lose the wu?

Most likely if it can't send the WU it won't get a WU either
sad.gif

so i guess their down again.......

Thank god this doesn't happen to often uHUM

EDIT so all you can do, is wait for a new WU and wait untill it is send......

greetings Ray.......

My internet took a poop just after I went to work today, so my whole setup minus some of the slower CPUs was sitting idle for about 7 hours today. Grr.

Also, my 2500K crashed for the first time ever at 4.8GHz... time to bump up the voltage just a hair.

EDIT: And now I'm getting more huge WUs that are pulling a whole 9k PPD on my 2500K (back at 4.2GHz, it locked up again.)

Just lost a 6903 WU (~350,000 points)
dry.gif
I may have to back down the OC on my SR2 as this is the 3 WU in 20 that has failed. I've also noticed the temps on that board are showing 73-75C when they used to show 66-68C so I may have to clean the dust out of the Xigmateks.

That sucks big time. My system is looking pretty dusty on the inside as well so might be giving it a clean soon. Did clean it 3 months ago though, but my room is extremely dusty.

That's a nice boost for such a simple change.

Bad times. What clocks are you running atm? And what Xeons are they again?

Xeon E5645s. I believe they are running at 20 * 178 for 3560mhz. Wasn't quite stable at 3.6ghz...I'm sure it can go higher, I just don't have the patience to tweak all the damn voltage settings (I also don't want to raise vcore and increase heat) so I'd rather just back it down to maybe 3.5.

Edit: Looking at my sig, it looks like my 6903 completed after all. I saw the 3 failed units in HFM and thought I had been at 2 and lost the unit.
