Yup right now on folding its hovering at around 87c, been looking at ways to reduce such as different fans on cpu cooler or a different cooler entirely
i guess i'll have to drop my overclock down abit to ease of the high temps
I personally don't mind upto 85c. Above that and I would start to make steps to cool it down. Run it at what ever temp you are comfortable with. The CPU with throttle itself if it gets too hot and laptop cpus get pretty toasty and stay stable for years.
The top one right? Maybe it wants a bit more airflow too? At this rate everyone on here will be cleaning the dust out of their systems
Airflow hasn't changed. Dust shouldn't be an issue, just cleaned everything out when I did my loop at the end of December. I'm back to work today, so maybe tonight I'll take a look at it. Still feel like hell though.

My first thought was -advmethods as well, but double checked my shortcut and I am not using that flag on that GPU.
You should fire them up seporatly and make sure which shortcut starts folding on which GPU. You never know something might have gone screwy along the way and the top card is actually running -advmethods.
It's happened to me in the past
Checked my cards, fans are fine. No dust build up...it's the new WUs. Even without the -advmethods flag you can get the 8031, 8032, and 8033 WUs. My cards are doing the 803x, raises the temp on my top card by 15C and PPD by 3-4k. I'm "only" running at 86% fan speed, looks like I may have to turn that up /grabs ear protection.

ah, right i overlooked that.... you really need to find some creative way of putting a fan or two to blow between the cards to move away some of the hot air

Power went out this morning at my house. I had noticed the temps on the SR2 had been getting steadily worse, so I figured it would be a good time to take it out of the corner of the living room and dust it off. Here's the damage after about 7 months of folding 24/7:
Not terrible, but a TON of dust flew out when I blasted the thing with compressed air. Hooked it back up and started folding, SR2 temp sensor is showing 66-67C (down from 74-75).

That'd kill the look.I upped the fan speed a bit and now temps for the top card are about 87C. I want to sell these cards and buy a single card and watercool it, but I really want to wait for Kepler. I'll probably sell one soon enough and struggle through with one 470.
Kepler is gonna be a long long wait from what I've seen. How much ppd do u get from ur 470s put together? Because if u can sell them for a good price, u may be able to get a 5xx card/s that will match that ppd without all that heat. I'm gonna go see how much they are worth (in Canada at least)
