Those little annoying F@H things ..

I don't remember

It's been a while since I poked around in the BIOS, I really have been letting it fold (without a monitor) for months

I'm pretty sure VTT is at 1.375, can't remember what the CPUs were running at but I know there was a lot of room to go up, I just wanted to keep the juice at a minimum. Next time I go into the BIOS I'll have a look.

Stupid windows update and stupid ME

i hope to have more "good" news later this week/month...

I struck the windows update issue too.

Thankfully it was on a laptop not worth all that much PPD wise.

Edit:

Scrap that. Just found my dads Q6600 + 8800GT had done a reboot from a windows update.

I have no idea how long that has been sat like that

Thats not cool.

Since running my overclock of 4.5ghz @ 1.4 on my 4600k I have had only two system reboots. I don't know what caused either but there wasn't a windows error dialog box left waiting for me.

On the 2 PCs that I have had the windows updates on, they are both my dads so I don't want to change the settings. He is very fussy about all his settings

Power went out this morning at my house. I had noticed the temps on the SR2 had been getting steadily worse, so I figured it would be a good time to take it out of the corner of the living room and dust it off. Here's the damage after about 7 months of folding 24/7:

Not terrible, but a TON of dust flew out when I blasted the thing with compressed air. Hooked it back up and started folding, SR2 temp sensor is showing 66-67C (down from 74-75).

Pics are gone mate. Nice temp drop

I forgot to mention this, but a couple of days ago I found my computer on the "please select proper boot device" screen and no idea how it got there. Lost a lot of points as a result and only produced 5k points that day.

Someone turned off the computer while it was running

Yea me

lost the SMP WU (went unstable) and one GPU WU....

working on my room so my rigs are in front of my window again.........

Added a second fan to the Thermalright Venomous X. I got the RT version as it was the only one in stock at the time and was cheaper than the standard version that came with a fan.

Anyway.

I don't have any of the wire clips because it comes with a plastic fan holder. No bother I think, I'm sure tie wraps can do the job. Obviously I HAD to do this while the computer was still running.

I now have cuts on the back of my left hand and the tie wraps arnt really doing the job all that well.

Still the fan is there and my cpu temps have droped between 5c an 10c.

Checked on my PC the first time in a few days and one of my 470s was at 97c. That's the one not using advmethods too. I've been fighting the flu for 3 days now so just shut down folding on that gpu for now. I'm guessing something is wrong with the fan. Sucks too, I have been getting 50k ppd average from that pc.

The top one right? Maybe it wants a bit more airflow too? At this rate everyone on here will be cleaning the dust out of their systems

Do you know what caused it? Vcore needing another bump you think?

I don't know tbh. My BSOD's are pretty random. They don't happen for a while, then all of a sudden I get one out of nowhere. Need to make changes to the recovery settings so I can find out the cause next time I get a BSOD.

When i was folding on a 2600k@4.8ghz i had more bsod/freezes with a gtx580,then with 2 gtx460.The gtx580 use more cpu than the 2 gtx460.In fahtracker i utilized 7 of 8 cores.1 core for the gpu stabilized ppd,and did run more smoothly, also when searching the web or looking vids at youtube.
