SysXtreme Connection Issues

yea, iv had the odd 'server cannot be found' in firefox 1.5 and IE 6

edit: i also cleared all history and cookies, no good

Yep I've had a few 'SysXtreme could not be found' time out errors over the last few days. None today though :)

After speaking with IDNet yesterday, we agreed that it looks like a problem with the DNS provider. The strange thing is tho SX and OC3D used different nameservers in the past (as they was registered at different places), however, they are both using the same nameservers now!!

Next time SX goes down, could someone please try accessing www.sx-radio.com, as this uses a 3rd party dns provider, and let me know the result.

Cheers

im still having this problem with alot of websites, i get the page cannot be displayed, but if i refresh it works fine.

Try this if you dont mind.

Goto Start > Run > Type cmd

in command prompt type "ipconfig /flushdns"

As windows XP caches good and bad dns entries above command will clean out your dns cache so when u goto a website new cache will be stored. If this happens with a lot of websites then it might be few files corrupted or your settings are wrong . e.g IE tools > security and privacy settings.

Let me know how it goes.

As for the main topic yes i had few errors myself with SX forums. Sx-Radio and OC3D was working fine at that moment.

its def not an issue with this comp, as it does it on all machines on my network, its also not my router as i've i've tried that at a mates house and works fine there. I'l prob give simon a ring tomorrow.

the other night my idnet connection connected at 28.8kbps

I have no idea why, I definetly was going at 1mb speeds.

Also noticed the last couple of days its been taking longer than usual to connect. The first 2-3 attempts fail then eventually it does connect. I think i am going to have to contact Simon about this.

Has anyone been having problems with SX today? It seems to be ok for me so far, but i'm still going to switch SX over to a different DNS provider (as soon as the registrar pull their fingers out and sort out my login problem).

I have one :P

its just after being upgraded to 1mb with PN my router couldnt cope any more, it still works as i have tested it. Its just a switch for all my pcs going into my little dedicated dell box.

I am just waiting for Tripplendece to come over to see if his router will work here, i know mine works at his.

Going to re wire the phone system for the house and stick the router in the loft and it straight into the junction box, maybe that will sort it, i have a feeling the main phone socket in the house is very dodgy seeing as it must be way over 35 years old. it looks fairly narkard.

It's been taking a bit longer for me to connect too, though I put it down to the crappy cabling in this house.

Other than that, everything's been working fine.
