Switch 810 build

Don't take pictures with flash!!!! Take pictures at daylight, with no flash!
The rig is cool! Only 1 thing, the bottom of the mobo. Those cables can be hidden better!

lol, blame my camera...
If I don't put flash on, it doesn't focus at all.

And yeah, most cables could be done better tbh. I was kind of rushed building it, and I haven't even used a single cable tie on the back.

I still need to add/change a couple of fans when I have time, so I'll re-do them then. Just isn't something that concerns me massively atm :)

A little trick for those little bits of colored wire on those front panel connectors is use a Sharpie brand permanent marker on the wire. Maybe the poor mans way to do this. :)

I just grabbed a card reader out of my junk drawer and quickly did these wires and I was not careful to be perfect, just showing an example. Once done without it right in your face or in a macro close-up flash picture it just looks like gloss black wire. Be better if it were a flat, not gloss, but it is better than tiny bits of color showing in my humble opinion. :)

Very nice rig mate, going to build my self a build in that case.
Just not sure on the top rad. What way i will like my barbs to go, but you will know when you build in the case :D

With a tiny bit of modding you can get barbs at the front. Depending on the specific rad you get too, you may even be able to get away with no modding assuming you get one of the special edition cases (or maybe all of them now have the holes in the drive bay tray?)

May I ask where the second GTX 670 is gone? Do you plan on putting it back in and WC'ing both?

I sold it to a friend. It wasn't a reference design unfortunately, and I didn't fancy a universal block. I don't game anymore anyway, and especially as I'm not even using my 3 screens anymore, I don't feel the need to SLI at all!

Understandable, if you're not gaming, using 3 screens and the PCB wasn't reference in the first place, I wouldn't have kept it either. Universal GPU Blocks are pointless imo, they look ugly :/

Have the same case as you, and a 360 mm rad and a 420mm, if Nzxt send me the new top to 15mm on 140mm fans ;)

And in the buttom we have a 240 rad, have 2 7970 in my rig that need water :P

i remember wondering a while ago, why is this guy using a noctua in a switch 810, then saw the little bit on the gpu's hinting at watercooling down the road :) . This looks amazing. Do you have any radiators in the front? Or is it just on the top?

Heh, yeah - I only had the Noctua in for a couple of days.

I do have a second rad in the floor now yes - not that I had an issue with temps with just the single rad.

However, the reservoir has developed a leak so the whole thing is out of action for a bit. Although depending on my choice for a replacement, it could be a nice update.

I'll post pictures with the new rad once I get the reservoir sorted!

Bit of an update then.

I got a second rad, but unfortunately the old reservoir developed a leak so that's been replaced by separate reservoir and pump top.

The reservoir sucks... The fittings on it are too high up, meaning any small knock on the case and it sends water into the loop. Also due to the design, I can't fill it up past around 80%, making the initial problem worse.

The pump also isn't properly secured as I lost interest and just wanted to get it working again, so that's just on the bottom rad with velco, which works pretty well tbh.

I will fix it at some point, when I gain interest again and replace the reservoir.
And yeah, I know the tubes for the res are too long, but I'll sort that out when I replace it.

Minor update...

I moved the rad into the front a few weeks ago, and I've been picking up additional Silverstone fans along the way.
My braided extension for the soundcard came apart, so I'm making do with a normal extension. I've got another on order though.

Tbh, the whole PC needs a clean really. Probably due a coolant change soon anyway so I may do a re-jig then.
I do need to get a tube res sorted as any slight knock in the case ends in water being put straight into the pump from the existing single bay res.

Also, the red fitting on the front rad can probably be changed. I do have others, but at the time, I thought it was only going to be temporary anyway.

However, I am very short on money atm, and considering I haven't even thought about playing a game in the last few months, the 670 is massively overkill for my needs. Because of this, I am thinking about dropping the 240 and possibly just go to a CPU loop, but I'll have to see.

That thing looks dayum epic :notworthy::notworthy:
And keep the gpu+cpu loop because it looks dayum awesome :)
and it is a lot quieter to

very nice james but now i have to do a rethink for my up coming water cooling setup :/

I'm fighting the urge to not watercool my system and this isn't helping!

Looks really nice :p

Thanks everyone.
Hopefully it will look better when I've got a tube res in.

Do now have LEDs back on the Raystorm too :)

@jamesriley94 hey buddy loved your system ... its just awesome .. just wanted to know how did u install those gpu leds in it.. I am really confused, can u please make a video of it .. not the whole installation , just the led installation in that gpu block .. thanks :)

lol, I'm not making a video of it dude...

I don't have it anymore anyway. The LEDs are incredibly easy to install though. There's just 2 little pre-drilled holes on the block to fit the 3mm LEDs, and you just push them in, and the fit is tight enough for them to stay. That's all there is to it really.

Thanks though :)
