Samsung cuts their profit forecast by 33%

Yup, I imagine this must have been some hit for them recently.

Although, that 5.2 Trillion?... How much is that really? I mean, a billion is a lot, how much is a trillion? Is it the next step after billion?... Ie, million, billion, trillion?...

The real question is how much is a won?

1 South Korean Won equals 0.00089 US Dollar
so using Greenbacks figures it equals 462,269,600.00 USD or 462 Million USD (Profit)
Still a lot of profit.
An understandable hit though after the Note 7 issues.
 
That's not much profit though for a company as large as Samsungs and what they actually should have earned. Remember they run a Foundry Business too. That in itself is insanely expensive.

Tried Googling it, but didn't understand it... What is that exactly?.
 
They have issues in other areas - It's not just the note 7's they also have exploding washing machines so I guess a quarterly profit of half a billion is still pretty good.

They probably churn a heap back into R&D (I think there was an NVidia thread showing how much R&D versus actual profit here somewhere)

Of course if it was making billions of dollars pure profit we'd all say our watches, TV's, fridges and electronics were way overpriced. Or buy shares ;)

It's called "let me google that for you" and sometimes dude it feels like that's the 'service' we provide for you, I'm just trying to cut out the middle-man and get you direct to the source.

It doesn't get old, that's the beauty of it.
