Rendering software

I see alot of really nice renders of future builds that guys and girls churn out and i was wondering what software people recomend, id rather create an image before i spend out on materials and cut the case to shreds ...

So any suggestions will be greatly appriciated

Maya, Blender, ZBrush, 3ds Max?

SolidWorks, Rhino3D or SketchUp as another free alternative

I believe sketch up does have a materiel database!

yeah it has a fairly basic DB down side im really not used to it, i miss Catia V5, with that i could even build the hinges and test load and make some pretty impressive units

But thats for the suggestions got the basic C70 shape, now to work out how to put doors in lol
