Project: Defiant

only ran it for about 30 seconds, but I was paranoid and didnt want to hurt anything. After I get some more work done on it I will work on some more overclocking. I'm not familiar with the sandy bridge chips yet so I will do more after some learning time.

Loving it, keep the updates coming

Still no good camera ATM, so I'm working on a few small mods. Ran into one problem though..... Anyone know where I can get some White Acrylic? seems impossible to find.

Had this made

What's a proper rig without a proper label?

HOLY MOLY! It has been a while since I have done an update. But it's summer time... who can blame me.

OK, so I promise I have been doing something other than playing... mostly work actually

If it has not been on the computer, it's mostly been on the new place and of course regular work, the kind I actually get overworked and underpaid for.

The new garage has slowly been turning into a pretty good workshop, but it's a slow and expensive process. Hence the slow proceedings on this project. But no more! I need mah geek time.

Unfortunately though my stoopid camera lens is still not back, but hopefully it will be here in time for the weekend. This weekend is shaping up to be a good one, as long as everything arrives according to plan. In preparation I got the radiators and fan painted up.

I made sure to mask off the fins on the radiators so that paint does not inhibit the cooling more than I already have.

I got the NZXT power supply in, but have not gotten the rest of the cable sleeve done. One of the weekend projects.

I removed all the blocks from the motherboard when I drained the system. With the stock heatsinks back in place I can make sure to test everything when I receive it.

Well the crappy camera died and I dont really feel like buying more batteries for it. I was unable to get all the pictures taken that I wanted and am unable to show you some of the other things that I have done. If all goes according to plan, which it never does, I should have a grip of new stuff to work with by this weekend. As I type this there should be a few packages in route to me. Included in these packages are a GPU, more sleeve, hopefully a camera lens, coolant and some fresh white tube to get everything in proper working order.

It's going to be a busy weekend between all the work needed to get done on the computer I am also going to a Volbeat concert on Saturday. Sunday is pretty much dedicated to the computer though, if I'm still amongst the living

Starts off with a package that reminds me of the times I used to order stuff from PerformancePCs (cos they only did certain things at the time) and it'd turn up with a tatty outer box covered in customs notices, with all the goodness inside

Secondly I'm alarmed to see the striped couch cos it looks very much like the one a friend of mine in north texas disposed of about a year ago

But, apart form the great pics of the build, what impressed me was the reverse-kitchen layout as a work surface. I like that idea.

Oh yeah, nice desk too

MDPC-X

goooood stuffs. Takes like 2 weeks to get here so I made sure to order it about 2 weeks ago today, maybe tomorrow
blink.gif

Hope to have it by Friday so I can finish the sleeve. Have fans, LEDs, molex and PCIe cables left to sleeve.

should be epicish

That looks awesome. I'll have to order some from NCIX. May end up ordering the Mod/Smart kit. Comes with everything I'd need. Probably won't look as good as yours though

.

I'm not certain, but I don't think MDPC-X is available at any retailers. I could be wrong though. If you feel like a bit of patience you can go to their website and order some. They have kits and all kinds of good stuffs for mod work. Their prices are not too bad and shipping is flat rate so no worries there. It takes a while to get here from Germany, but it's well worth the wait.

MDPC-X

Back on topic though, got my coolant, tube, sleeve and just waiting for UPS to get here to bring me the GPU, the anticipation is killing me.

Looking very sexy so far. I'd buy that desk in a heart beat. Overall, brilliant job. Lookin' forward to the next update.

Thank you kind sir

I have had a lot of positive feedback on that desk and am actually thinking about making a couple to see if I can sell them. This one is more of a prototype than anything, but It is truly nice when I'm working on computers or other random tinkering projects.

I have not used paracord as of yet. The I/O panel wires on this case have some form of paracord, but it seems like they used some sort of coating on it to make it kind of rubbery. The nice thing about it though, it is much more flexible and has a denser weave that does not let color bleed through.

I must say that I'm not sure how I managed it, but everything(other than the camera lens) showed up today.

BACK TO WORK!

Finally Leak checking. So far so good. If i could just keep from spilling coolant everywhere...

On to sleeve. This is going to be a long weekend.

WOW. I was looking at a water cooling kit for myself a couple days ago, and you have exactly what I wanted, and the same motherboard. IT LOOKS AWESOME!!! I can't wait for my new build!!!
