Im going to be upgrading to 2 MSI GTX 580 Lightnings and in the near future overclocking them. I dont have a lot of money and while looking on SLi Zone a power supply which is capable of running 2 or even 3 GTX 580s is Thermaltake Toughpower Express 650W. Is this accurate because it doesnt seem like it should be able to. I know if im going to overclock i need a better psu but will this be ok until i have enough money to buy a better one?

For tri Sli you're looking at atleast 1200W and make sure it's a good brand. One thing that should NEVER be skimped on is the PSU. NEVER EVER EVER. For two 580's you're gonna need atleast 850W but I'd probably look towards a 900W-1000W just to be extra safe. Don't get the thermaltake, go corsair, enermax or be quiet are quite good i think. If you can afford 2 580's surely you have money for a good PSU, if not get two 570's and something like the corsair AX850W.

Also what is the rest of your system spec?

You would think i would have enough money if im getting 2 580's but its kinda hard to buy things when you dont have a job...

ASUS P6X58D-E

Intel i7 960 @ 3.6GHz stock cooler

Gigabyte GTX 285

Patriot Viper sector 7 2000MHz 3x2gb

2x2TB 1x500GB HDD's

Xigmatek 650watt

So just get the 1 580 and get a PSU aswell. Or get two 570's and a new PSU and also save yourself some £'s. Personally i'd get two 570's anyway, but you honestly you do need a good PSU, the more you spend now, the longer it will last. A good PSU could last 4 GFX card generations.
