New card, same problem

Sweet.

Two cards aint worth the hassel imo. I'd always advise the best single card of around the same price of the 2 proposed xfire/sli cards.

Benchmarking is fine, real gaming it's just not worth it.

He who has not made mistakes, has not learnt

Unless the cards are way overpowered for the task, you will never enjoy gaming on crossfire imo too. Is SLI as bad as this has been?

I really can't answer the reliability question tbh. I know there are members on the forum that use both xfire and sli 24/7, who're sure to speak highly of both.

I'd only personally go for it if I had the bestest of the bestest single gpus out there and stumbled across another bag of cash someone had left laying around.

You got to think about extra power, room in cases, mobo compatability, drivers, windows, scaling (which is just as good for some games in xfire as it is in others for sli, although lovers of each will swear it aint), game support (which isn't always there), profiling - and then rely on the fact all these things work out AND go on to be reliable ... ... personally there's enough issues with single gpu cards to keep me going.

(that includes dual gpu cards btw, although I'd favor them over 2 cards even tho they don't scale as well on paper)

I chose a GTX-570 so I wouldn't have to screw around with CrossFire or SLI. It works quite well. I also went with a GTX560 in the other PC and it's working out just fine too.

you can have a nvidia card but wont be able to sli it as your mobo wont support it so if you dont plan on sli its a good option

Well that's the thing, for as long as the card is still in production enough that i don't get dud after dud after dud like with the 5770s, i will still likely crossfire
