Hey Guys!

So i plan on ordering myself all the parts to start my first ever build tonight and just wanted to double check and get everyones opinions on the components etc that ive chosen.

Processor: Intel Core i5 3570k
Case: NZXT Phantom 630 Black
Cooler: Corsair H100i
Motherboard: GIGIBYTE GA-Z77X-UD4H
Power Supply: 760w Corsair AXi
Memory: 16Gigs Corsair Venegeance Jet Black Low Profile 1600MHz
HDD: 2TB Western Digital Caviar Green
Graphics Card: XFX Double D Black Edition Radeon HD 7970 OC 3Gigs + 5 Games
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit
Monitor: 27" HANNS-G HL272HPB

What do you guys think? I was looking at the 7870 Tahiti LE but i can stretch to the 7970 so thought might as well. Is the Motherboard a good choice?

Any opinions and advice are welcome!

Cheers Guys!

Also i plan on ordering all this from Aria and i notice they have the buy now pay 12months later option. I can happily pay for all this just now but i was just wondering if any of you have went down this route? States aslong as you pay it all up before the 12months its interest free, so im thinking why wouldnt i take the option???

welcome to the OC3D forums,

usually we like to know what is the usable purpose for the build? gaming percentage?
productivity percentage? long-term future and budget are helpful. we'd hate to
recommend a gaming rig for solely video production machine.

Cheers for the welcome!

Its going to be a gaming rig yeah, with some video editing. So Gaming(Bioshock, Sim City, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider), movies, music and internet basically with the components being as future proof as i can get just now!

Well all this came to just under £1500.00 so il go with that being my budget!

NEVER EVER build a 1500 pounds without a ssd inside :D
If you strogle to keep the price i would say get another psu. the AXi is pretty good but i think it is overpriced.

ti'd be best to make a new topic in the "New Build Advise" section, rather than in
your introduction thread.. not really will weigh in on assistance.

my apologizes. you are in the right section, I wasn't.

yeah, a SSD will deffo help the cause and make it a snappier build.

No worries mate!

Well I dont know much about the SSD market!

Theres a Samsung 120Gigs 840 Series for £75.00 would that be ok?

ive got win7/adobe CS6/Office2010 on a 128 M4 and have 25gb free storage.

yes, off-installing the lesser items onto a HDD would be helpful (just gotta remember
to custom install). but a SSD is almost required now-a-days for any performance
of any build. spending the smart money on the key components dictates whether
the build is fast or not.

Welcome mate. And good choice on the 630, you won't be disapointed with it at all. There is oodles of room, and plenty on hard drive mounting options. I agree though, an ssd is a must these days, their the new black, you no.
