This whole saga has got a whole lot worse....speakers aren't working at all now. No power getting to the soundpod and the sub isn't humming anymore....

ARGH!!!!!
and you haven't changed anything? That's weird. have you spoken to the guy you got them from, or do you not know him very well?

Will speak to him on Monday...have known him for a while...need to get hold of a replacement fuse for the subwoofer....to see if that is the cause.

Not a happy man :(

Had to cut and post the control centre cable back to em.

TBH can't fault there service.

The speakers probably work fine, you just scored yourself a decent set of free speakers at least :D

Have been thinking tho...

Maybe I should have asked if they'd replace em with Z5450s...the set with the wireless rear satellites....hmmmm....shall I chance my arm? Is it worth giving it a go...?? I am a bit worried about the new set....(yet to be mailed) because I do not want the speakers to have fixed cables....I want the cables to connect via spring clips.

What would you do guys??

I've heard bad things about the 5450s tbh I think you are better off with the Z5500s just because of their great quality.

I'm not 100% sure but think i read somewhere the wireless ones were plagued by a buzzing noise caused by them being wireless.

Z5500s it is then lads....

New set arrived today....was looking forward to some trouble free audio....dream on....

This set is also faulty!! Argh!! The sound keeps cutting out all of the time. Is OK via the headphones but as soon as you move back to speakers problems arise again...

I am gonna get a tattoo done on me AR$E...

RMA!

U sure there isnt a way that the new speakers are affecting your sound solution? Try them on another pc and see

Yes...

The first faulty set ran fine (for 1 night) until they went 'pop'....played BF2 with surround sound and it was finr.

Switched the new set on last night and something isn't right....one minute the sound is there...the next it isn't.

This is turning into a total PITA.

Try changing the output of your sound card. On mine i have my card set to Dolby Digital 5.1 and then that sets the speakers for Dolby Digital and that's what is read on the LCD. My card dictates what output my speakers use.
