iphone 4S (are you disappointed?)

So it's already been announced! The new iphone officially said to be the 'iphone 4s.' It looks EXACTLY like the iphone 4 but with more powerful innards. So are you upset about this?

Well I aint. While I have no plans to get an iphone 4S it is still going to be about 30% more powerful. And considering iphone 4 will be getting IOS5 anyways I feel the need to stick with iphone 4 instead of getting 4S.

What is your opinion?

I aint that bothered really, 4S or 5 I wasn't going to upgrade, my contract expires next year. It's exactly like the 3G/3GS was. iPhone 5 next year.

This is still a pretty big hardware leap, i would say bigger than iPhone 3g to 3gs was. We are going from a single core 1ghz to a dual core 1ghz with ~30% faster multitasking and 7x graphics increases. Although I hear IOS5 is uspposed to increase iPhone 4 ~20% to ~30% which gets release October 12th.

Slightly disappointed, would have liked a re design. although saying that I would have also have been happier if they had just called it iPhone 5 with the same hardware!

I'm getting one, sick of my hd2

Im not disappointed, the reason being that i liked the iphone 4 and whether they kept it or introduced a new design, I was going to buy the new iphone anyway.

Specs wise, its brilliant, improvement from the iphone 4. The biggest plus for me would have to be the 64gb of storage.

I'll be getting one next week

I'm still debating whether or not I want to upgrade. Storage for me is no deal for me, I will just get the 16gb one. Another thing is I am also on Verizon so I don't know when they will be getting any in stock. You can reserve starting October 7th but I don't want to purchase through apple store. And their is most going to be a line a mile long and every Verizon store. So chances I even get to touch one this year are slim to non. Getting your hands on something made by apple seems impossible for the first few months.

Verizon should be getting the 4s.

Apple did say they were going to ramp up production this year to meet the demand so hopefully there are no shortages like the ipad 2

I don't like buying from apple on-line either, always prefer going in-store

Even though many were disappointed that there was no new design and iphone 5, I still think its going to sell like previous iphones if not better. Apple products are like that, if its something major like new iphone or ipad, its impossible to get your hand on it for the first few months.

Thats the reason why i camped out for the ipad 2, because they offered the chance to pre-order the ipad 1 a few days before release but not the ipad 2 so i stood in-line as i know i would not be able to wait

the features are impressive together with IOS 5

They always say that. Maybe I will get lucky, my upgrade isn't untill October 14th which is the release date (maybe it was meant to be lol).

I'll be getting a 32gb, will be checking the apple store and AT&T via the web for my preorder. Siri is most interesting to me. Using dictation and text messaging with voice wil be awesome. The boost in hardware and changes to the camera are welcome as well. Don't expect any speed increase on your iPhone 4 with iOS 5. I've been running it a few months now and while it works great and has some great new features, I don't notice any speed differences.

Your running the Beta arent you?

I don't think disappointed is the word I would use but not what I expected.

I was fully expecting to see the iPhone 5 today and no 4S at all. I was hoping for a revamp of the design and a much larger screen.

The 4S is in no way disappointing though with the changes they have made to it. I would still love to have one but I believe I am going to wait until the 5 comes out next year. This will be the first time I don't get an iPhone on launch day. After I have a chance to play with someone else' I might change my mind.

can they be overclocked????? I'm still as happy as I was the first day with my HTC Touch Pro2 I hated it then and I hate it now lol but its free and doesnt cost me anything to use it.

I am very disappointed. I love the look of the 4, and it's fast enough, so ai wanted to see what the 5 would look like. I upgrade when I really need performance, and for a new look. The S series phones are stupid.

I mostly agree. I think I will stick to my 4 until the 5 comes out. See I can do that BECAUSE IT'S NOT ANDROID! If you have or had an android phone you will understand how miserable it is not to upgrade ever 10 months.

Actually it's very conservative with it's battery. FAR more so than Android dual core phones.

We don't know until we see some reviews. The dual core CPU with the addition of a larger screen will drain a lot more battery. However, if the capacity of the battery is also increased significantly, then the battery life may well be quite conservative. The point is, we can't say anything until the phone has been released and thoroughly tested
