iphone 4S (are you disappointed?)

@KING_OF_SAND - Fair enough, if that is what you think, that is what you think. I've had nothing but good in my experiences and as far as multi-tasking goes, the more applications you open, the more the phone will clog up. That is not a problem with the OS, it is rather a problem with the user's inability to close a program when he/she is using it. As far as closing apps goes, the whole point of multi-tasking is leaving the apps open in case you want to quickly go back to them without the waiting (even though the waiting is not very significant). I don't know what you mean by properly closing apps on the S2, because it is a very basic process where you open up the task manager and click on Exit if you want to close a single app and Exit all for multiple apps.

It is quite clear you are trying to bash Android because you have nothing good to say about it. You even go as far as saying that the Android Market is full of Malware and Porn, when that is not even remotely true. Only a small percentage of the Store will contain such content and it will be the same with any "App Store".

Anyway there is no point continuing this argument and like I said before both Apple and Android devices have their problems and in the end both companies produce very good smart phones.

Why should the user be responsible for closing the app when there is no close button? Android is supposed to do that when it needs more RAM. Android NOT just SII has an issue with closing apps completely, Android has a function that is meant to eliminate the app when needed, unfortunately when it does this it still leaves descent size traces of it on the device (RAM). Also Android sometimes spends more CPU power than needed to close one app and it could be trying closing the app for HOURS SII and DROID X 2 have this issue. While hardware does play a factor is speed, it's ultimately up to the software how the phone is used. I also have a few other gripes about it.

And the ONLY thing I like about android is widgets, other than that there is nothing android does that iphone doesn't do better. There is nothing like i said that i either approve of or like. Call me a fanboy of apple if you like but Android just is not there yet. Now with a bunch of different applications I can make my phone last for long periods of time and run faster. But why should't android do that by default. Also 4.3" screen is to large for me but swipe is amazing but it's not an android feature

Sure it is, it just happens to be app-specific. The ability is there, it's up to the programmer of the app to make use of it.

It's really not true multitasking. For the average smartphone user it's probably a better implementation, but it really doesn't give you much control and only allows certain things to run in the background. There rest of the app is paused. They did this to conserve battery life. Still though, it's not true multitasking in the traditional sense.

16gb £499, 32GB £599 and 64GB £699

Not bad pricing

Well it's hardly good, although I suppose it's just being released, but not many phones cost so much, definitely not the Galaxy SII.

If I want to close an app, I click the home key, move to the 2nd home screen, click two buttons and it closes it and cleans up the RAM. So simple, of course apps should close better but it's not disastrous.

I agree that Android should be better at optimising battery life by default, but only a couple apps, and then I can tweak running processes to my delight right from the home screen.

Yea it's not difficult. I have Advanced task killer (which i paid for) to auto close everything at specific times. But one thing that could REALLY optimize battery life is to only have say 4 apps MAX open at any given time and to completely close the app. Not only would this save battery life but would make the phone a hell of a lot faster, as well as more consistent. This is really all they need to fix.

All I'm going to say is I'm happy with Android and have no bad experiences. You are entitled to your opinion and lets leave it at that

I think it's safe to say that he knew. Each new iPhone has had more success than the last. Unfortunately, if history repeats itself, Apple is going to go into a downward spiral without Steve.

The new guy was appointed by Jobs himself. I think this guy will go okay.

Took me an hour to get through, but iPhone 4S 32GB black on the way. Strange, but FF wouldn't work for me on AT&T's website. As soon as I used IE, it went no problem.

My account shows I'm eligible for a discount as of November 25th so I think I am going to wait until then to look in to getting one. Only a month and a few days away, I think I can hang out that link to save ~$500. lol

Ordered my White 16gb 4s today on Vodafone! I'm making the switch from android and tbh it couldn't happen soon enough.
