i HATE pipex!

right, well, we got kicked off tiscali some months ago, over a year ago, for downloading too much, we went to pipex, who were loads better, but who have just been bought out by tiscali, so we rang them up, and asked them if we could cancel and move back to BT, (their option 3 just looks so good tbh) and they said no....NO?!?!?!?!?!

so they put me through to another department, that said, we could cancel it, if we paid off the remaining months of the 12 month contract (dispite us having been with them for 18 months now) and a 340 quid excess

THREE HUNDRED AND FOURTY QUID?!?!?!

gah, that has me SO frustrated now, i was actually looking forward to going on BT, free evening, and weekend calls, 8mbps, unlimited up and down, and a free funky looking phone, but NO!

i need somthing to punch...

just thought i should get rid of this outrage...
 
How long did you sign up with them for? Most contracts are only for 12 months tops, so if you've been with them 18 months then maybe you renewed the contract?

BTW, regardless of whether you are in a contract or not,they cant refuse you a PAC code to move across to another provider. Just tell them you'll contact Ofcom if they say otherwise.

but if i requested a MAC code, it would be dispatched to me in 24 hours, but 340 quid would be taken from my grans bank in under 5 hours of requesting it

ARSEHOLES! tbh.
 
get some advice from ofcom. on a side note, you mentioned BT were doing unlimited. Well theres no such thing as unlimited.

ers, don't we all hate these people... just send complaints to Ofcom, which often has GREAT results, then as soon as you can, dump em. To be fair, we are fine with pipex, though we may have changed to BT without me being told, as we have a BT home hub (best invention EVER), but i am interested that there is no such thing as unlimited usage... what is the max?

They can't do that. As Nath said, speak to ofcom or threaten Pipex with going to them.
 
excuse my ignorence here, but who exactlyare ofcom?...

are they like, ...idk....

i dont even know what to begin to think tbh :S
 
Ofcom are the media regulators for TV, Newspapers, Phone companies, the list goes on. Powerful, Powerful organization.
 
i've dealt with them before, they helped me get my isp issue resolved. I actually got a returned phone call of them. An actual returned phone call from a governing body :O yes i was as shocked as you are.

just about. cant remember the names of the company, but we were with company A, then company B took over them, company B then cut our line off 12 months later and said they hadnt recieved a single payment in 12 months. Turns out that our payments were going to company A even though company B had took over them and we were instructed that we needed change anything.

It involved me being a little nasty down the phone as they were bleeding morons. there were another 10,000 or so unhappy people. Thats when ofcom entered.
