Gpu options?

Hey,

I just wanted to get the opinions of others on this. I currently have the GTX 580, crossfired. While these cards are still amazingly good, they just don't look the part in my build! I cant stand to look inside tbh.

I have looked around at other gpu's and at the moment I'm leaning towards the GeForce GTX 780 3GB and sticking with just the one card. Or maybe I should stick with the cards I have and find some way of making them more appealing to the eye

I'm not what you would class as a computer wizz so please be gentle.

We're going to need a bit more info than that mate :)

- Other system sepcs?
- Budget for possible upgrades?
- Colour scheme?
- Picture of the inside of your PC?

Firstly, please excuse the miss match build!! I recently upgraded a few things, so its in the middle of a full upgrade.

As you can see, I only have the Artic cooler on the one card, this is because I took this from my old build and have not yet brought one for the top card as I'm not sure I want to keep them yet.

I started with the ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 ATX Motherboard, i7 2600k, 2x4GB Mushkin Redline DDR3. All in a Cooler Master HAF case.

I upgraded the motherboard to a MSI Z87-GD65, the cpu to an i5 4670k, added another gtx 580 and placed it all into the corsair 750D. My ram, for some unknown reason would not boot with this board so I'm currently using my partners old ram and my lovely daughter had hers upgraded for free :/

I plan to take out the led's that are currently in there as I want to stick with a black and red theme.

Never heard that one before. lol

Sorry SLI

Really sorry, I was trying that for ages and for some reason it was not working, kept saying "Please do not use remote images, upload them instead" and it has just said the same for trying to quote your reply :/

You looking at dual GTX780's? A single 780 wont be that much of an upgrade over a pair of GTX580's, that is still a lot of GPU horsepower. A GTX780Ti would be where youd want to start to get an upgrade worth the money IMO.

Hmm very good point. Its just the look....

It looks horrible, the Artic cooler is sooo big and looks horrid in my opinion. I also dont like being able to see the boards but I have searched for a plate and come up with nothing :/

Thanks Damien, I am leaning more to selling them both and getting the 780ti, or selling the whole thing and starting again. Yes they are only 1.5gb cards and I worry about them not being able to perform with future gaming.

I have never over clocked anything on my rig, I keep it all at a base and loved the simplicity of it, not having to do much monitoring, however with the sli and now watching all the time, so I would prefer to go down to just one card.

Selling them and getting a GTX780Ti is a very good idea and probably the best way to go. You shouldnt lose too much cash by selling those 580's cause theyre still extremely capable cards and you should still get a decent price for them.
