I wouldn't take any refugee from Asia, North Africa or the middle east, Their hyper violent cultures are completely incompatible with European peoples as many throughout Europe are witnessing first-hand.

Does that not seem ironic when these countries with on-going issues are all ex-colonial nations that were quite peaceful (Compared to Europe in each given time period, based on %age of peacetime) for thousands of years before the, usually British or French, colonial rule, and the tactics of diving countries up based on religion or ethnicity to make them easier to control?

(Which coincidentally, happened quite a lot just after the last time Europe almost destroyed itself, which was around the time several European countries found that threatening to destroy the earth with nukes was the only way to stop other European countries from destroying the earth with nukes)

Peacetime across Europe is a very, very modern and historically rare phenomenon, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pax_Europaea

I don't care if it's ironic, Some type of "ism", "ist" or "phobia", These cultures should stay in their respective parts of the world, As of right now many people can see some type of massive conflict breaking out within Europe, Only a matter of time.

I get that, but do you not think you're letting German authorities off the hook a bit by attributing the problem to culture rather than their handling of it, particularly when other European countries can have higher levels of refugees without anywhere near the same level of issues?

It's not like German authorities could stop the flow of people out of war zones at all when so many goods, trucks, lorries ect flow along these routes, France tried that and it just turned large areas of Calais into a disorganised, crime ridden refugee camp instead.

Oh yeah the German authorities are completely inept, Merkel has made a mess of everything she has touched and her saying "well if you don't like it then go to church", Talking of the situation she caused, Is utterly insane, Germany would've had some people going in but when she said "all are welcome" she made sure that the future of indigenous Germans was going to be made very uncomfortable., My own brother, His wife and 2 x children and many of my friends have had to leave Berlin due to the mass amounts of crime.

If the German government said "anyone coming in will NOT receive any type of benefit" I can guarantee 99% of people would not have come but no instead insane Merkel said "all are welcome" and you know it's getting bad when many Jewish men and women of Europe, Many of my friends and family, Are fleeing Europe due to the people coming in who hold some extreme anti-Semitic views and are not in the least bit bothered about getting physically violent.

Are you sure benefits are the reason for the crime rates though, surely that's a sign Germany is failing in proper reintegration, management and policing?

The Knights of St John is ofc is where the modern European concept of any human being entitled to immediate and free first aid comes from, and Malta hasn't really faltered either in terms of official healthcare provisions, benefits schemes or the amount of charities on the island focused on assisting those from war zones since the Order of St Johns rule ended. The Order of Malta's work on psychological treatment and rehabilitation of those from conflict zones seems to have been of great help in avoiding any material increases of crime, while the arm Malteser International helps with the rebuilding of recent conflict zones and retraining of people which often sees refugees return home happily at a much higher rate after conflict has ended.

Yes I'm pretty sure, The majority of people coming into Germany are coming in simply for handouts of money because Merkel said loud and clear anyone coming in will get money and the majority of these people have brought their violent cultures with them which include Anti-Semitism, Homophobia, Christianophobia, Extreme misogyny, Racism towards European peoples and general intolerance of anyone not like them.

While I think people of all backgrounds should help eachother to make everyones life more comfortable, There comes a point when enough is enough.

Long story here, but need to vent a little. Just spend near 1.5 hours holding on the phone...

Right, it started at the end of last month. On the recommendation of people here, I got a cheap (£70) RX 570 on eBay for my friend Aaron. He paid me for it, and I did the purchase to save time. Anyway, the long story short is that it wasn't delivered, but DPD said that it was delivered. The package could have been stolen, or DPD was lying. Delivery was said to be on April 3rd.

Phone call 1, get though to DPD UK, says they can't do anything, that the seller needs to do a false signature claim. They also said that NI was DPD Ireland territory, and that they don't have all the details.

Phone call 2, DPD Ireland. On hold for over half an hour. Get through to a person who confirms that the seller sent it to the wrong address. They sent it to xx XXXXX instead of xx XXXXX Park. Park is a big distinction here. They said that they would contact the depot and email me. Two weeks later and I never got an email. This was on April 9th

I contact the eBay seller so that he can make a false signature claim, as the driver didn't have my friend's permission to sign in his stead. The seller than accuses us of sending him the wrong address. I respond with an image of my friend's recent post with the same address I gave him. I also said that he should have contacted me if he thought that the address was wrong, and not correct it himself. I then get an automatic reply saying that the eBay Store is closed for easer, how convenient. This was on the 9th.

My friend then visited the address that the parcel was sent to, which is just around the corner, to see what was going on. The owner of the house said that he directed DPD to his house and didn't accept the package. So who was the package delivered to?

After Easter, I used DPD Ireland's system to deliver an email which detailed the problem. They never responded.

Today, April 20th, I called DPD again and was on hold for almost an hour and a half. Got the guy to contact the relevant delivery depot and see what was going on. Told them that they never responded to emails and never followed on our previous call as promised.

The long story short is that the driver didn't drive around the corner to dleiver the package to Aaron, or attempt redelivery. Instead, the parcel was mislabeled as delivered and returned to sender. It arrived with the eBay Seller on the 8th.

So, when I first phoned DPD the item was already with the seller again. DPD didn't tell me this. The seller also didn't tell me that he had the item back. So I've been spending two weeks trying to resolve this and DPD cold has just given me the right information on the 9th.

As you can imagine, I am very annoyed. I have called on eBay to give me a refund. £70 is amazing for an RX 570, but I'm not dealing with that guy anymore.

Utter timewaste from both the eBay seller and DPD.

Yeah that's shoddy from both of them! Looks like seller was trying to get some free money!

A quick tip, always contact places on Twitter for issues like this. As poor as it may seem with the situation viewable on a public platform I always find my issued are resolved a lot quicker!

Hope you can get a deal like that for another RX570.

That sux WYP there's nothing worse than being stuffed around due to incompetence

Thankfully the seller has seen sense and has given me a refund. This will be a situation that I will laugh about at a later date. The incompetence here has so many layers.

I bought a key from CDkeys about 5 weeks ago. Never got it. Every time I emailed them I just get the generic response. Started a Paypal case, no response. Could take another 3 weeks.

I mean it was "only" £11.99 but the fact is I have missed 5 weeks of gaming with friends because I thought it would be sorted quickly.

Of all the things I have bought only two have failed to turn up. One was some 3m sticky stuff which I got a refund for and the other is the der8auer socket shifter. However, that's not their fault. Apparently stock is coming next week but I'm in no rush.

I bought some paint and masking supplies recently and they all arrived promptly :)

socket shifter.

I've ordered so much stuff off ebay in the last few weeks it's difficult to track what has and hasn't arrived. there's 2 things that i'm sure have come but I can't find anywhere, 1 for absolute definite because it was too small so I ordered a bigger one (quiet in the back there). It's bloody infuriating!

That moment when you find out that £8 Wahl hair clippers now cost £80 on Ebay.
I know people will start harping on "Supply and Demand!" But that doesn't apply here since there's not an actual shortage of hair clippers, just scalpers buying up the stock like the see-you-next-tuesdays that they are.

Yeah proper gouging. People realise they need to cut their own hair, hair clippers turn into webcams.

Here's a fun timeline for a weekend: went to bed Thursday night around midnight, all was well. I stumble downstairs the next morning at 8:45AM, and I hear rain sounds. Considering it wasn't raining outside, this was rather troubling. It turns out the water line to my fridge had cracked overnight, and was now spewing high pressure water all over my kitchen, and subsequently into my basement. So I run downstairs and shut off the water main, and notice that all the leakage from upstairs was now raining from the ceiling downstairs too, directly above my breaker panel (lulz), and one of my 35" ultrawide monitors was getting drenched.

All things considered, I got pretty lucky. None of my PCs got hit, only one monitor (out of four) got nailed. I have three pretty kick ass (and very expensive) complete systems that could have been ruined. My recently purchased Herman Miller chair was in the vicinity, as was my $5000+ Threadripper rig, but they didn't get touched.

Still a HELLUVA way to start the weekend!!

Dang man that sucks :(

I don't like water, or playing with it.

The year after my father died (so 1982) my aunt figured it would be a great idea to spend Xmas together at her house. TBF it was bloody awesome. Any way, we returned home three weeks later to find that a pipe had frozen in the attic and exploded. And the house had been basically leaking mains water for three weeks. All of the plaster ceilings had collapsed, and the house was basically destroyed.

Took months to get it all sorted out. Had to run dehumidifiers for weeks upon weeks, big noisy industrial ones too.

Tell you what was so weird though. We went to stay with my mum's friend and her four sons just around the corner. Just as we went home the exact same thing happened to them. So they stayed at our house for a month lol.

So some psychopath on Facebook contacted me stating that I disagreed with him about something over a year ago on some random post, He's been thinking about it for a year and now is threatening me with various physical acts and also of self harm, I blocked him and reported the message to Facebook.

I'm not worried in the least but seriously why does the net have so many utter whack jobs on it ?
