Finally started my new build

as suggested above (thanks specgaming) i´ve removed the yellow plates from the motherboard heatsinks and painted them white

now i just have to wait until the paint is dry :)
i havent yet thought about how to get the geforce gtx writing white
i might go with dinox not sure yet

more updates to come

how easy were they to take off as i want to do mine blue to match my theme :)

piece of pee... just need a small screwdriver... get under the plates and slide through... they´ve used sticky tape to fit them

paint is now touch dry... its not 100% but its good enough for me

the plates

now its just the geforce gtx writing which needs changing color.

tell me what you think!

more updates to come...

Well done!!!:)
Now I have to do the same with my plates:)
You said that they are attached by tape??? So that means that you don't need them, also that you can put some carbon on them:D:D

i was just going to say i liked the little bit of yellow and green on the board and gpu to break up the b & w a little but anyways--still looks great!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for painting it white and not using carbon!!!! i seriously can not understand the current obsession with carbon fiber in computers! it has never looked good on cars to me and it's even worse in computers. it's my opinion that carbon fiber will go down in history as one of the worst ever tacky pc modding phases. it's worse in my opinion than anything the early-mid 00's had to offer such as un sleeved cables, cold cathode tubes, binding wrap on water cooling hose, etc etc. It really is 2012's version of all of those things IMO.

all of that was referring to traditional gray carbon btw, don't even get me started on white carbon ;)

anyway's i really really truly do not understand why people think carbon looks good in computers or anywhere, but i guess it will just be one of the many things i never will understand :)

the white paint on the mb heatsink accents looks great , nice work on that!

Has TTL created a Carbon monster?!
Did something similar for a mate on that board but sprayed it orange.
May do it with CoolSair but a nice copper :P

Obviously it's just another personal opinion thing but I just think it cheapens the look of high end builds and hardware and just generally looks tacky the same way all of that other stuff in the past did.

As far as white goes I DO like white in some cases, deepdning on the material. For example I like the caselabs cases in white, but I don't like white plastic or carbon. I think white can be done well, but like anything I think it can be overdone and done not so well too.

People choose to use carbon, because it looks good! If you think that it look's bad its your choice, but don't call it the worst pc modding! It take a lots of time to do it wright.
Will my current system look as good as it looks, without carbon I DON'T THINK SO!

It may take a long time to do, but I think it looks bad.

What I will say though is that I generally do not like making negative comments about things on any threads that are no my own, so I and sorry for making the comments here instead of on my own thread.

Well it's just your opinion..., anyway most of the people do like it.
Forum is for sharing opinions they don't have to be always good, and everyone does't have to agree with other's:lol:
BTW:D some people do like brown fans..., some others not:cool:;)

i like the look of them a lot too. i think earthy colors are nice and it's a nice change from the usual blue/red. i think the noctua stuff goes nicely with the asus sabertooth boards

my last board was a sabertooth x58, which is my all time favorite looking board. i also like the look of the sabertooth x79. the z77 sabertooth i dont like as much because i dont like the look of the thermal armor that much and the texture on it, but its still nice. i decided to go with the mpower board over the z77 sabertooth this time, though.

the audio the usb´s and the front panel connectors are all hidden underneath the usb3 cable

i love what you're doing with the cables especially the front panel stuff behind the usb's that is some properly tidy work right there! looks like your cables will be tidier than mine ;)
