Finally started my new build

i love what you're doing with the cables especially the front panel stuff behind the usb's that is some properly tidy work right there! looks like your cables will be tidier than mine ;)
cheers mate
we´ll see its not finished yet... couple more cables to come :)

I Love the looks of Corsair fans, but... the fan motor sound is a bit irritating for me, but I'm just really picky when it comes to fan noise:D

i think the corsair fans look alright, not really a fan of interchangeable trim myself, though. i haven't heard any reports of motor noise until not now, that is something i've very picky about as well.

i can say that the fans that come with the 650 are horrible and extremely loud and on top of that grease actually comes out of the center of the 200mm ones! Needless to say I'm glad to get them all out of my case ;)

i haven't really been the biggest fan of corsair's recent releases ;p but i love the ax850 still and the 650D is very nice but i did have to fix the power button and modify the front to fit my 120mm fans, though. it also does not have a proper 19 pin usb 3 header on the usb3's so you need an adapter.

i dont know about the h110i i havent seen any of them in real life yet but my dad had 3X h100's and the pump noise on all 3 was horrible.

the corsair link thing on the new ones i don't like the size of that but most of all i dont like that they switches from seasonic to the other brand flextronics or something like that? I don't know how good or bad the new brand is but I can say that I would not buy any of the new PSU's because of the switch.

So I have mixed feelings about Corsair but I think some of their stuff is very good.

I bought 4 Corsair SP120 QE, as I thought that they could be good enough so I can swap them from GT A15, but no way I will do that, now I understood how epic GT A15 are:D
But still corsair fans are really good and most of the people will probably have no problem with them, but well I'm picky:)

500!!!:D

500?

I love the Gentle typhoon fans! they are probably the only other fans beside Noctua's that I would use in my own build.

i never had any problems with corsair hardware

This shows a very detailed look at the interior of the 760i if anyone is interested in seeing that: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/AX760i/4.html

re: corsair
the first h100 died after a couple of days and the gpu was hitting 100'C and shutting down, luckily it survived. The second was functional but the pimp was loud, third one same thing loud pump ticking noise.

when i took the fans out of my 650d after using them for a couple months there was grease on the center area of them where the motor is. one guy reported the rear 120mm fan that comes with the case actually leaking grease onto his graphics card. people also report the built in fan controller breaking on many of the cases after about a week. the power button on the case i had was compltely stuff almost ununsable, when i opened it up i saw that the botton and the little num on the button cover was not even lined up, so the button would rub on the sides of the button cutout and not even make contact with the actual button properly. i was able to realigned and it make it work by heating and stretching the little hole the button cover is screw in with, but that is just poor quality control.

So i have had quality issues with some corsair stuff, also i like my ax850 but it is one of the ones that makes whining noises when you move the mouse or launch various games. not a huge deal but a bit annoying at times. I dont completely hate corsair though, i dont see anything from them i would want to buy in the near future, but if they come out with something outstanding later that i like i would consider it.

yeah i have to have a closer look. flextronics is lesser known but it seems like their stuff is good quality. i still would prefer seaonic for myself though. i also dont like the red accents on the new ones i like the gold accents on the old ax series ;)

i must have been lucky then... i´ve only used their memory and a force gt ssd in the past...
i´m selling a new ax 750... maybe i should keep it :) but i like the new design the red looks good with the force gt´s

i think it's sort of hit or miss with their stuff, unfortunately it's been mostly miss for me, but the same sort of quality issues apply with lots of other brands too these days.

i just had a read through that corsair 760i review i linked to earlier and it seems like for the most part the 760i is good quality, the only issue the review reported was the caps used "Right next to the main transformer, we find a group of CapXon polymer caps used for filtering the +12V rail. We would highly prefer Japaneses caps here instead of Chinese caps, but Corsair must be pretty confident about the lifespan of these caps since they back the unit up with a seven-year warranty."

I would have just stuck with the 750 myself since those are made by Seasonic and the sweet sport IMO since the 750s dont seem to have the same whining problems the 850s do, but since you've got a 760 now and it matches your color scheme i wouldn't be too worried about it!

This is what they had to say about the new manufacturer

"The new AX760i and AX860i are manufactured by Flextronics; the same company that produced the AX1200i. Flextronics is, although they don't have a significant presence in the desktop PSU market, still able to produce products that can easily compete with the more experienced competition (Delta, Seasonic, Enermax etc.) Like its older brother, this unit utilizes a Digital Signal Processor or DSP instead of a conventional PFC/PWM controller and a supervisor IC. This allows for the best possible performance since the DSP is much faster than conventional ICs. DSP makes proper adjustments right on time and does, on top of that, take into account many more parameters. An LLC converter on the primary side and a DC-DC converters, for the generation of the minor rails on the secondary side, further boost efficiency. The unit does, all in all, use the best technology available for commercial PSUs."

ive had a few corsair fans doa, but nothing else major...

Did you take a shot as to how the sinks looked without the plates? Were they just plain black?
i didnt take a picture, but they're grey-ish

edit:
you can see the grey-ish color underneath the plate

I've been torturing myself looking at boards, and that MPower one is definitely the best looking. According to the reviews it should get you the most out of your chip as well. Those white accents look the business...
