Hi all,

Just joined about fifteen minutes ago to be in with the chance of the compo prize...

Now I know that sounds terrible, but I've been looking to upgrade from my old 8800gtx amd athlon beast from 2009 and not had the chance due to these strange anomolies called children with financial needs.

Luckily, one of them is moving out in three months and I may be able to claw back a couple of hundred quid a month to build a new spec monster.

Nice to meet you all anyways and I'll be skulking around the site to find out what all these new fangled gadgets are for ideas of a good gaming build.

Aye Jim. I'll be sticking around. I notice you're in the same bracket as me for download speeds... God awful. I thought it was just me as well.

Thanks Gouki. I'll need all the help I can get. I tend to just look at pc sites and drool while forgetting the specs as I have no idea what they are... It's what my missus calls window shopper's dementia.

I could get 16mb if Virgin would bother their arse to install fibre optics here, but seeing as we only got gas installed over coal fires last year, I'm expecting around 2046 before Branson pulls his finger out.

Virgin wont extend there network. It pretty much bankrupted NTL, Telewest and the other to build the dam thing. Then Virgin came along and got it for a fraction of its worth.


Still miss virgin though. A 10mb connection was fine for me for most days!
