As the title says, I need to 600W - 700W PSU to go with this build. I'm asking you and a few other people, seeing as my knowledge on PSUs is quite small..

Build:
LL

As you can see, I have the Seasonic M1211 620 in there for now, until I get more ideas.

Thanks in advance! :)

Silverstone make good modular power supplies, you should give them a look.
The seasonic is a good unit though, so don't discount that just yet.

I've picked out these:
Antec High Current Gamer 620 - €77,37
EVGA SuperNOVA 650W - €91,34
Seasonic M12II 620W - €81,64
BeQuiet Pure Power L8 630W - €78,32
Thermaltake SMART M650W - €70,45

Not Antec, not Thermaltake (ever), not sure about EVGA really, and probably not to bequiet...

Your best bet is Seasonic any day from that list.

You sure? Antec are a fantastic brand, and some of the Thermaltakes. I'm not sure about Evga either. I'll wait for more replys.

lol....

Thermaltake is known as 'thermaltacky' around here because their products are crap,
Antec PSUs are known to catch fire
EVGA don't tend to make their own products ever - which is usual for the PC industry, but I can't find out who the manufacturer is.

Seasonic are the most reliable manufacturers around. Corsair PSUs use Seasonic parts, so they're also a good choice.
A lot of manufacturers use seasonic parts. Some Antec PSUs use certain components, but skimp out on others, hence why you avoid them.

Silverstone, Corsair, Enermax and Seasonic are the only PSUs I'd trust my own system with.

Are you kidding me? I've given people Antecs in there builds in other forums, can I see proof that they are known to set on fire? I've never trusted ThermalTake, but I've been told the more expensive ones are better.

I'll most likely go with the Seasonic then or the be Quiet!, thanks a bunch. :)

Hehe, yeah. I have never heard bad stuff about Seasonic, so your choice is a good one from the start. You might also want to look at Corsair PSU's... Almost the same thing though.

For quite a bit more may I add..

You've heard bad stuff about Seasonic? Your obviously misinformed..

It's based on the Seasonic, but it isn't the Seasonic inside no...

The most part is, but they buy certain parts cheaper as far as I'm aware, so it's still alright, but just isn't quite as good.

Best sticking to Seasonic

Yup, thanks, just gonna' stick with a well known, high quality brand. My PSU choice is the Seasonic M12II 620W. Thanks everyone! :)

Having checked the individual components from reviews myself, the two units are pretty much identical, including components like the bridge rectifier, mosfets, SBRs, etc. You can see for yourself:
S12II 520w
HCG 520

It's worth noting though, that you really can't judge the quality of a power supply based on it's branding - the Antec, EVGA, Thermaltake and Be Quiet units are all rebranded OEM's, they aren't producing the units themselves. Antec specifically uses a number of different OEM's for different series and I've heard that some of their lower-end units aren't that reliable, but the HCG series are definitely different.

Christoi from MCF? :)

What would you suggest? I'm quite settled on getting the Seasonic..

Yes indeed. :P

Out of the four, the Supernova looks decent for the price, given it's based off the FSP Aurum. A cheaper option would be the HCG/M12II, which would also be perfectly fine.
